Morakniv Garberg Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife with Carbon Steel Blade

I started bushcraft as most did with a morakniv companion (still highly recommend those for that price range and budget) and I fell in LOVE with morakniv. I wanted to try this one out as Ive heard this is one of the best knives you can put in your hands and I believe it. Balance is perfect, size is everything I could need (batoning isnt an issue cause anything over the 4 odd inches wide is axe worthy for me), and the construction are perfect. In terms of quality and feel it puts some of my past knives to shame.

I have beat this knife, hard, for the last year. Went on two survival expeditions and have yet to be disappointed. Easy to sharpen. Hold edge well.

Not happy Just received this knife and it’s missing the smallest piece of Velcro the one that actually holds it to the everything wow ridiculous

better than the standard jobs they make the standards are perfectly good too spend the money if ya wanna show off probs just better off buying several of the cheaper guys tho

Blade came with a nice edge but the sheaths were so-so. They will do but Im not confident that the straps will last the test of time. The knife, however, is pretty sweet. Nice and thick - full tank and the handle is very comfortable. It has a good weight and cuts well. This one will need to be oiled so it doesnt rust but I feel its going to last a long time if properly taken care of.

Great knife, but I would buy the version without the ferro rod holder and knife sharpener if I buy another. The ferro rod fits very loose in the supplied holder, which I didnt realize, so that it fell out and I lost it on the first trip into the field. (I had intended to get the ferro rod out and try it in the field, but it was gone before I could get to it.) The sharpener that is built into the same ferro rod holder is very course and ok for field use, but I would rather just pack a sharpening stone that provides a course and fine side to get a better sharpened knife. As noted before, it is a great knife. Compact and light, but tough enough to get the job done.
