I have experienced no noticeable difference in reception from the longer stock antenna.

Works just as well as the antenna provided with the radio and doesnt poke me in the armpit all shift.

So far works as good as the factory one. Shipped and arrived in a timely manner.

Radio antenna works on the radio I have. Much nicer than the 8 inch standard antenna. However, I have ordered 3 antennas as they all break off VERY easily. Either it being stripping the inside, bending, etc the antenna came off several times and broke on the slightest contact with something. Seller was not willing to replace EVERY time I made a claim even within the allocated time of purchase. Made the smart choice and purchased one from a different seller.

I just purchased this for my Motorola APX6000 and it has worked flawlessly. Now I dont get my radio antenna poking me in the arm pit or catching on the seat belt when I exit my vehicle. Totally worth the money and makes the shift go by without annoyance from the antenna.

The original APX 8000 antenna is fine if you aren’t worried about comfort and a bulky set up. The shorty does have the GPS feature like the long version. The shorty makes it more realistic to wear on a tactical vest. Perfect for a front radio position or on back/shoulder area. If for tactical use, the shorty is a better fit. All comms should be it range if there is an incident, because there will most likely be a mobile comm center at the CP or nearby tactical comm unit.

Definitely worth buying. My old one would go into my armpit all the time, this one gets great signal still and doesnt get in the way
