Dielectric grease tube is as big as a tube of toothpaste. If you have a lot of spark plug/lightbulb work this is an incredible value to you.

This is a great product for its use, but its also awesome to use for fan belt dressing when it makes noise when slipping.

Bad packaging. The plastic packaging was already half opened. That being said, the actual dielectric grease was unopened so it wasn’t a really big deal. Despite the packaging, grease was exactly what I needed

A silicone grease with lower viscosity than standard products used for pool equipment O-rings, etc. I use this product for automobile weather stripping and windshield wiper blade UV protection. Also works well on rubber plumbing components such as toilet tank flush balls & flaps. In the event your toilet ball / flap is slow leaking, remove it and clean both the valve seat and ball / flap mating surfaces with paper towels, apply a thin coat of silicone grease to the ball / flap in the mating region and then reassemble. For Delta faucet ball valves, remove valve ball and soak in Lime Away if lime deposits are present (do not use abrasives as may cause permanent damage), lube rubber spring caps with silicone grease and reassemble.

As would be expected from Amazon, this item is offered at a good price, and it is a larger tube then is usually found in general retail. In general, dielectric grease is used, and indeed required, to prevent corrosion from occurring in electrical connectors (such as plugs and sockets) and connections (such as battery terminals). It does this well because the thorough application of the grease excludes oxygen, the presence of which is generally essential to the forming of corrosion, or oxidation. Again, it is useful that it is dielectric (meaning totally non-conductive) as this precludes any possibility of an inadvertent electrical contact, such as a short. In fact, a shade-tree mechanic can actually use Vaseline for this purpose, and this is certainly better than nothing. There are in fact, of course, conducting electrical greases, which facilitate conductivity in their application if used carefully, and I have written of such in another review. I dont believe that it is quite accurate - or informative - to call it tune-up grease, as it is certainly appropriate thus but definitely not only so. For instance, it should be used at both ends of the spark-plug wires, for instance, but really nearly any electrical connection benefits thusly.

Permatex dielectric tune-up grease protects electrical connections and wiring from salt, dirt and corrosion. Required for modern high energy ignition systems, dialectric grease extends the life of bulb sockets and prevents voltage leaks around any electrical connection. Also prevents spark plugs from fusing to boots. Suggested applications: marine and automotive electrical connections, spark plug boots, trailer hitches, and battery terminals.
