Pokemon X&Y is most definitely the best Pokemon game released to date. The amount of improvement: regarding graphics, content, IV training/breeding, and models & animations is incredible; especially after playing the Pokemon series since Generation I. New features, such as the revamped Exp. Share and the introduction of Mega-evolution (something Id thought would be very stupid and gimmicky, but actually turned out to be a lot of fun) just make the game a great play-through. A big flaw that kept me from giving a 5-star rating is the games terrible framerate issues. Even without 3D on, the animations in battle suffer from very choppy movement. Actually turning 3D on renders an almost unplayable framerate. Another minor (but very annoying) gripe I had is that the new mode for fast traveling--rollerskates--cannot be turned off and are automatically used whenever you use the circle pad to move.

I LOVE that you can customize your character; clothes, hair, and they even have a darker skin tone for my character. This game is a lot more social than the predecessors, from adding people to your friends list and such. The world is not flat. The camera moves on its own as you walk around and it actually feels like you are in the game. It was also nice they brought back the old Pokémon from previous generations. I dont see the purpose of Megaevolution. I dont see the purpose of Fairy types when Ice and Dragon moves are actually a weakness to Dragon type Pokémon. And...the rest of the game is just boring for me. The more I played it, the more I got less interested in the story. Im not going to complain that the game is too easy because Pokémon is a kids game, its suppose to be easy. The gym leaders and the Elite Four arent difficult to fight. And the story/plot was boring, Pokémon was a lot more interesting. And even after you beat the game, theres nothing else to do.

As a advid fan of Pokemon Ive been playing these games since the original Red and Blue, Ive played just about every version on the Gameboy color, the Gamboy Advance, and DS. Now Ive finally got Pokemon Y in my hands and what do I think of it? Its a good game. No doubt, I got it today and Ive only just barely put it down. Lets take a look at what were getting with this package. The graphics for this game are the best for any main series Pokemon game, ever. Gone are the flat 2D graphics, these are in fresh new 3D, and it looks fantastic. I love how this game looks, walking around cities, the character models look awesome, and the Pokemon battles are much like battles from Pokemon Stadium, or XD. So great job on that. The formula is, for the most part, unchanged. Youre a boy/girl whos been given a shiny new Pokemon, Grass, Fire, or Water, and youre on a quest to catch em all. All the while collecting Gym Badges like theyre hotcakes. I cant say much about the story as Ive only beaten one Gym, and just recently got my second starter, but so far its looking like the story wont have anything new to offer, which honestly I dont care too much about. I dont expect a heartwrenchingly deep story from Pokemon. Though, I do have a few nitpiks that I am annoyed about. This game feels, compared to older Pokemon games, a bit too easy. I dont really expect Pokemon games to be overly difficult, but Id at least like some challenge. The first Gym was laughably easy, which could be partially tuned to the fact that I choose the fire starter, and got the Wifi Torchic, and the first gym uses bug type Pokemon, but even so it feels...yeah. And the fact that i was given an Experince Share, technically an Exp All, right after the first gym...yeah. Not sure what youre trying to do Gamefreak, but I would at least like there to be some challenge, even my eight year old self, the age I was when I first picked up Pokemon, wouldnt find this all that hard. At least up the difficulty a little, dont give us Experince Share that early, I dont care if people complain about grinding, thats what you do in a RPG. But other than that. I dont really have many complaints, the game looks great, its fun, if a bit on the easy side but its still good. I look forward to beating this game.

I was skeptical about the new generation of Pokémon, being such a huge fan of the earlier versions of the game and such a critic of later generations, but I have to say I was truly impressed. This game was not only fun, but the graphics were amazing and it was the perfect length as far as game time goes-- not too long and not too short like some of the other generations. One thing I enjoyed the most was the variety of Pokémon from earlier generations available from the start of game play. It was refreshing to see old favorites available with amazing graphics without having to wait until I beat the entire game and unlock the National Pokédex in order to catch them. There was something special about taking on new gym leaders using a new generation of Pokémon with old classics. Great move on The Pokémon Companys part!

Tried to complete my collection so I placed an order for this product which did not have the world edition tag on the title of the product. It should. Itll go into the collection, but gosh I feel like Ive made a bit of a mistake here.

Miss leading pictures of the product, this is the world edition (even though the cartridge is the same as US version)

This game had so much hype over the last few months... And it definitely deserved it! Although this may be since I am a Pokémon fanboy, I absolutely loved the constant references to older games and the extremely well-made music all throughout this game. The 3D models were stunning, especially since it was the first time 3D models were used in a mainstream Pokémon game, and it made the battles so much more dynamic. The story was lacking however, and though I do not want to spoil too much, try not to expect any major plot twists or anything like those seen in Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2; but then again, Pokémon is less about the story and more about the adventure anyway, so this is not too huge a flaw. Overall, I adore this game and although I did not cover some other amazing features in it (Mega Evolution, the friend system, customizing your character, etc.), it is absolutely beautiful and I would love to see all Pokéfans, old and new, to play this game and enjoy it as much as I did.

If youre looking for the non-world version, this isnt it.

Ive been a fan of Pokémon since Red and Blue appeared here in the US. From that point on, Ive been getting my hands on at least one game from each series as they released. After Ruby and Sapphire came out on the GBA, nothing quite pulled me into the world of Pokémon like they had. That isnt to say I disliked the DS games. I still enjoyed them, but I wasnt enraptured like I had been before... this is, until X and Y appeared. I bought Y first, but it wasnt too long after that I bought X. Pokémon X and Y have so much to offer anyone who tries them out. I felt nostalic on occasion, as well as a brand new sense of adventure. For the very first time, you get to see the world in 3d. You also get to play with, feed, and pet your Pokémon! Plus, the new region, new villains, and new legendaries are absolutely fun and awesome. Whether youre new to the series or youre a Pokémon Veteran (like me), the odds are that you will enjoy this game.

Absolutely beautiful game! Great new features. Its like a breath of fresh air into the Pokemon game franchise. I do have some problems like: 1) Not much post game content. 2) The story was kind of weak and the way the Legendary Mascot was tied into the story was sloppy. It felt like the Legendary Pokemon was just thrown in there just because thats the way it is supposed to be. 3) The game did feel easy at times. Meaning the difficulty level was lower than past games. Even though I turned off the EXP.SHARE, I destroyed the Elite Four and the Gym Leaders without much trouble. 4) Catching the Legendaries was easy (at least for me). Only took me like 4 Ultra Balls. I remember when I would use up all my Ultra Balls (60-80) and would have to restart at my save point to try catching it again. Other than that, the game is beautiful with new great features. The online aspect has lots of great features, which is what Pokemon is all about, which is why I still gave it five stars even though I had problems with it.

The Next Evolution in Pokemon comes to Nintendo 3DS.
