Rit Liquid Fabric Dye Black 8 Ounces, Pack of 3
-
Bo McLaughlin
> 3 dayI bought this to dye a white bra (since a particular style I wanted was only available in white in my size). I used two bottles of dye and let it soak overnight. The dye took perfectly on the straps and lace parts of the bra. The fabric of the cups, however, rinsed back out to a light gray before the water finally ran clear. Luckily because theres decorative lace over the cups it turned out to be a really nice looking effect, but its absolutely true that different fabrics take to the dye very differently.

> 3 dayI had 3 pair of black jeans in various degrees of fading. With some trepidation I used my top loading washing machine and followed the directions provided by the Rit website. Amazing! One bottle dyed my jeans to a beautiful black! Next? Rit dye for blue jeans!

Greater than one weekThis color dye is amazing. Happy I got the 3 pack because I’m going to do my jeans one more time to get them extra black. How I used it was different than instructed and I think I got great results. I boiled water in a sauce pan. Poured it into a bucket. Then put half the bottle of dye. Put my clothes and then the rest of the dye. I let it sit for 5 hours stirring it occasionally. Then I rinsed it in the sink under cold water to get rid of the runny dye. (It actually didn’t stain anything surprisingly) and then I let it go thru the standard wash/dryer. The end results are great especially for my t shirts with graphics. Can’t wait to do the rest of my faded shirts ! - already recommended to 2 friends, it’s that good. take my word !!!

> 3 dayI watched videos and read tutorials online before I attempted to dye my sons 100% linen blanket. I also followed the direction to a T and still ended up with blotchy fabric...YES, I made sure to continually agitate the fabric! Even with THREE bottles of dye and soaking in the dye for 60 minutes, it still had a purple-ish tint and we started with a light, almost white blanket. Going to use the color remover and just accept whatever color it turns out but I assume that it will be better than blotchy black/purple. Should have followed the guides and blogs I read and used a higher quality dye I guess.

> 3 dayFollowed the instructions, but could not get my white scrubs black. Even after several applicable and 3 bottles after, I got a grey color. The only thing that remained black was my black scrub. It looks newer now. Interestingly, I kind of like my new grey scrubs. Its up to the buyer to decide what they want to do. I bought navy blue due, but may never use it. The hassle is too much.
