> 24 hourIts not a perfect system, but if you play with it, you can get the job done. Trick #1- the Video Capture USB device gets hot, and will burn up. When it gets too hot, the picture quality gets bad. It gets real jittery, and theres no fixing it- letting it cool wont make a difference. I recommend keeping one of those little blue ice packs on it (in a zip lock bag to capture the condensation). Dont leave it plugged into your computer when you arent actually transferring video. Trick #2- if the video doesnt show up in the app, try selecting Record DVD. Once you get the video working, go back and select Record, Edit, Save if you want to save it to your harddrive. You may have to do this several times.

> 24 hourThis is the second product I purchased to digitize my old VHS tapes. This is very easy to use. Software is downloaded from the Roxio website and the cord just plugs in to your computer and your VCR. The first product I bought required a CD drive to download the software. My laptop does not have a CD drive. I have had some issues when this program doesnt work, but it is an easy fix to repair the pogram by going to uninstall and choosing repair, taking less than a minute and the product then works fine. If youre looking for a simple way to digitize old VHS, I would recommend. There are also some simple tools to trim the video that are easy to use.

> 24 hourI thought I was going to have to spend hundreds of dollars transferring a bunch of old camcorder videos to digital format. I happened to come across this $20 thing, and I assumed it wouldnt work. Why do companies charge so much money to transfer videos if you can buy a $20 device online and do the same thing yourself? I figured I should at least try. I was amazed at how well the Roxio product worked. If you have some videos you want to transfer - and if you have a VCR or something that will still play them - try this product. You could save hundreds of dollars.

> 24 hourBought to convert old VHS tapes. Tried to download the software. I have newer laptop with windows 10. Could not get past first screen because I got message to plug in Roxio hardware even though it was plugged in. I unplugged and tried different usb. Same message. I started a chat with Roxio which after awhile led to them creating a ticket and note tech would call. I called product support and that ended the same with new ticket. Both tickets were acknowledged and I was requested to send a description of the issue. No response on either for over 24 hrs and then received another email asking me to describe the issue. Very disappointed and I am now beyond my return window.

> 24 hourAlthough this software is easy to use, it crashes regularly. When the files are large, it takes hours to convert them to DVD if it works at all. There is an update patch to this software that I installed but it does not take care of the crashes and long delays. I am in the market for an alternative to this. I thought Roxio knew what they were doing. I was able to convert three tapes and do some captures so it sort of works, but I have 30-50 tapes to do and I dont trust this stuff.

> 24 hourSo easy to use right out of the box. I had tried a couple other ones that were cheaper but they didnt work. I loaded this and started using within minutes.

> 24 hourI hated that right after I bought it it was $30 cheaper. It works well enough. I had some trouble with the cable, even bought another attay, which didnt work, had to pop it open, it somehow disconnected it from the pins inside, plugged it back in and it was good to go.

> 24 hourI would give this 5 stars if the audio would not or could eliminate a clicking noise that I think is coming from the VCR or my audio card as I tried 4 VCRs and the clicking noise was still present - not sure what it is but after many start overs and the cheapest VCR I have the clicking noise was very faint.

> 24 hourIve used several different video transfer systems over the decades. This system is very easy to transfer videos to the computer. As fare as transferring them to DVD, I have not tried that yet.
