> 3 dayIve installed about 500 feet of 5 inch crown in the past year and most of that on 100 year old plaster walls. That said, you realize Im talking about walls that are rarely square. Ive been using an antique protractor I got from my father - brass, old & really beautiful, but far from accurate. I splurged on this unit and couldnt be happier.

> 3 dayThis Starrett COMBO Protractor is what it says it is. Everyones only and very valid concern is the ACCURACY of the product,... cause ACCURACY is ONLY what we are willing to spend money on, and ACCURACY is what were expecting. Theres no point in saying anything more than I got the protractor in the mail shipped well without a scratch. I tested it,... and it was indeed ACCURATE. So chalk up one more for the ACCURATE and satisfied group. I hope yours reads true as well. I would be really bummed out if mine were off, and probably have to write three hundred letters to Starrett to complain. Lucky for them its a good product.

> 3 dayAfter seeing my protractor my neighbor went to Harbor Freight and purchased the same concept tool. After a few uses of his new acquisition he started borrowing mine.

Greater than one weekThis is a real handy tool. The angles were right on. I used it to layout some oak mouldings I was installing on a staircase project. It really saved time as the saw was in the garage. Eliminated lots of trial cuts for odd angles. I wish I had it for a kitchen crown moulding job. Cabinet boxes were not all 90 degrees! Only downside --- should come with a carrying case!!

Greater than one weekSolid and precise tool. Invaluable for wall moldings such as chair rail and baseboard. Very nicely made and worth having the aluminum over the lesser solid plastic option.. My only wish is that it gave absolute wall angles as well on the reverse side (which is blank). This tool only gives degrees for single or dual (miter) cut angles for your trim work. But if you want to use it purely as a protractor to measure the wall angle, it is not as useful. (For example, if you place it up against a 120* wall, it does not have any indication on the markings for 120*, it instead gives you 2 different cut options for single or dual cuts to fit trim into that 120* wall angle, but will not display in anyway the absolute angle of the wall at 120*.
