This calculator was an upgrade to my TI-84, as I needed the Nspire for the imaginary portion of my Intro to Circuits class. The calculator has a lot of functions and can solve almost anything for you, including Calculus, Statistics, and can even run some games if you install them. The main drawback are the buttons, which are much less user-friendly than the classic TI-84. The buttons do not give much physical feedback compared to the 84, are much more noisy, but most importantly, sometimes it seems that the numbers do not always register, so you always have to max sure you are inputting what you are clicking.

Took a while to learn the interface and all the features, but it is a great calculator and saved my life in calc. The notes feature is very helpful and the quality is great!

So listen to video to get tips n shortcuts. Slight learning curve when using for exams, just make sure it’s deg or rad n the right sig figs! Also, your 2 fingers can enlarge the graphs! Lol. Currently, using for AP chem n AP calc.

Its intuitive to use and after 2 days of practice you can get around it. Keep the booklet handy for when you need to remember how to do some more exotic stuff. You can create and edit python scripts on it ,from the device ,and the python library has all you need. Doesnt have 3rd party python libs ,but you can add them or copy the files. This python capability comes in handy if you need to roll your own stuff to help you. Build quality is good and it doesnt feel like cheap plastic. The battery seems to be accessed by unscrewing the back lid so this should make battery replacement easy. Quite nice mini computer to have around to help you.

IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STEM STUDENT, BUY THIS PRODUCT IMMEDIATELY. It pulls through. Not only does it do algebra flawlessly, but it can also do very complicated tasks like taking integrals, generating derivatives, and even solving systems of equations. The one thing to note is the learning curve. It is pretty significant. However, use it alongside all your work, and after a semester or so, youll be a pro. You can even load notes and such into its memory. I love it!

I’ve used TI calculators for about 25 years, from the 30 to the 84 to the 89 and now the CX II CAS. All of them were fantastic for their time, but those who want to get the most out of their calculator in 2022 should go for this one. Specifically it’s best for people who need to do calculus, physics, and engineering. Those who are only in algebra courses may be better off with the new TI-84 Plus CE. The CX II CAS is well designed and easy to use. It’s surprisingly thin and lightweight. It charges with a mini USB cord and last for at least a few weeks of regular use which is amazing. Calculations are very fast, and it has some tools like spreadsheets and python built in, but these are pretty clunky compared to using a computer. I’m not sure why someone wouldn’t use a computer for that anyway. It also comes with a free copy of a virtual calculator program you can use on your computer. I’d recommend this for any math, physics, or engineering college student, or possibly high school as well.

One choice of standard calculation rectangles needed for continuing education courses and their tests. Why not a touch screen? Why not at least ThinkPad-like pointing nub instead of the dodgy touch thing right in the middle of the D-pad? Unsurprisingly, the average budget-conscious phone will do a better job with some of the free stuffs out there... EDIT: Three stars removed because: 1) The desktop software requires a yearly license to renew, and is the only OFFLINE way to manage files on the device. TI offers free ONLINE software for file management - because adult students cant be trusted? 2) It is not (yet?) possible to invoke native CAS functionality in a Python script. The single most obvious thing someone would want to do with Python on a CAS-enabled calculator, and it isnt there... 3) The unit is essentially glued shut. There are two hidden screws, the heads of which are underneath the translucent plastic screen cover with the silkscreen print on the glued side. DIY maintenance would entail removing the screen cover, most likely cracking or damaging it. This is a BIG problem if too much dust accumulates inside the unit. Dust and grime gets in from the TOP around buttons and onto the top of the silicone button pad internally as buttons are pressed. This can cause problems with sticky buttons, among other obvious things.

Got this for my son who needed it for high school and college calculus classes. Many schools provide these as loaners for students as well.

Faster performance, added interactive visuals and easier-to-read graphics expand this graphing calculator"s classroom-proven ability to support inquiry and discovery. Built-in, Computer Algebra System (CAS) engine enables students to perform symbolic as well as numeric calculations. Integrated mathematics templates permit you to enter expressions and see math symbols, formulas and stacked fractions just as they are printed in textbooks and on the board. Animated path plot allows you to easily visualize function, parametric and polar graphs as they"re draw in real time. Dynamic coefficient values let you explore direct connections between dynamic coefficients in equations and graphs. New app icons, supported by color-coded screen tabs, improve the user experience for easy navigation and use. Rechargeable battery reduces the risk of running out of power unexpectedly and eliminates the need for routine battery replacement.
