15-06-2025Its intuitive to use and after 2 days of practice you can get around it. Keep the booklet handy for when you need to remember how to do some more exotic stuff. You can create and edit python scripts on it ,from the device ,and the python library has all you need. Doesnt have 3rd party python libs ,but you can add them or copy the files. This python capability comes in handy if you need to roll your own stuff to help you. Build quality is good and it doesnt feel like cheap plastic. The battery seems to be accessed by unscrewing the back lid so this should make battery replacement easy. Quite nice mini computer to have around to help you.

> 3 dayYou can use this on the SAT! It’s so nice, and it works really well! It can help you solve so many problems way easier, and overall it’s such a unique and cool calculator to just have! The touch pad blows peoples minds!

09-06-2025This is an incredibly powerful calculator, only really necessary for university level engineering or similar. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it for less than that because the menu based interface can slow you down and takes a while to learn. If you don’t need to do matrices of complex numbers in phasor form then get a TI84

> 3 dayI was a loyal HP-fan for 34 years, starting with the HP28s back in college. As an electrical engineer, I progressed through several upgrades up to the HP50g. Then I got the HP Prime, and at first I hated it, so ignored it for almost a year. But then it grew on me, and I kicked myself for not adapting to change sooner. But, there was always something annoying about the Prime, where for every convenience, there were almost two inconveniences. Then I decided to try the TI CX II CAS Student Software trial for 30 days, and I was blown away so I bought the calculator from Amazon! Why, oh why, did I torture myself with HP for so long?!?! Nearly everything about the TI is easier, and despite looking student-centric (which could be interpreted by some as a toy), I promise that this will be your work calculator. The document-based interface is exactly what I needed - I rewrote my HP applications for TI, including a few new ones, in a fraction of the time (the language is easier, the editor more intuitive, and the dedicated keyboard destroys HPs multi-click, illegible color scheme, keyboard). I wont bother looking at HP anymore - Im sticking with TI. There is no way to describe the experience with this calculator here - just buy it and if you dont like it, return it (but you wont!).

> 3 dayI am horrible at math. I mean HORRIBLE! I bought this at the tail end of my algebra class and it was okay for what use I got out of it. Now I’m in Chemistry and omg, it has helped me so much! It’s been trial and error in trying to figure out the functions of this calculator but for someone who’s never used something like this, it was easy enough. I’m excited to use it in my Statistics class next term.

Greater than one weekFirst, it arrived quickly and in very good condition. Besides the manufacturers package (with the manuals and an USB cable) it was also sent in a bigger box with plastic airbags, so it was very good protected. Regarding the calculators performance, so far very good. I used to have the first nspire CAS, and this one is faster from the beggining, it boots faster than the old one. I got this one as replacement for the old one (I had an accident with a cup of coffee) and I will test it further in the next days but so far very happy.

> 3 dayIf youre hoping to jump up from the Ti 83/84 you may have used in grade school to this thing, well its nothing like those calculators. The user interface is very picky and the mouse isnt the best. The calculator does all kinds of stuff but good luck figuring out how to do it, Even plotting a graph from points and tracing it requires going through a couple windows. I couldnt just pick up the Nspire from the 83/84 and figure it out. Ive been having to watch multiple videos and reading the manual to figure it out. Its obvious this calculator is capable of a great many things but figuring it all out will take a while. If you dont need all of these features maybe look at something more simple.

Greater than one weekThis is obviously a very capable calculator which is why this gets 4 stars, but there are 2 things that I cant believe passed quality control. First one, when the calculator sits with its back in its sheath on the table and you type it will rock back and forth. I have a cheap Ti-36 that does not do this. My friend also bought this calculator and has the same issue. Second is it only lets you type super slow otherwise it stops recognizing the input, once again my dirt cheap Ti-36 does not have this problem and can accept a far higher input speed. For the money and given that this isnt the first iteration Id expect fundamental things like this not to be an issue. Also really not a fan of the baby blue as the only color option. Mathematically, no complaints, but thats to be expected, this is the top tier calculator. Also needs a higher res screen, its 2019.

> 3 dayOnce you get used to how this thing works, its really amazing. Its valuable in that you can define functions that could be tedeous and then just enter some values to calculate. i.e. herons formula. The stats features are very nice and its more calculator than most people will probably ever use. You can program Python on this thing! Basic programming is very straightforward. The screen is nice and colorful. You can save notes in it with geometry figures for reference if needed. It comes with computer software that you can install with the same interface as the calculator itself and then transfer your documents to the calculator. This way, you can type your notes and test out functions prior to transferring them onto your calculator which is much more efficient. Overall, the learning curve for this calculator is much steeper than the TI-84, but the features blow the 84 out of the water.
