I used this with a large 14,000 BTU A/C. It was easy to put together and get the A/C installed without having to drill a single hole. My biggest issue was that the instructions were vague and were concentrated solely on the bracket itself. There were no tips or any other types of information that had helped me get a larger window A/C unit installed with this bracket so I had to rely on competitor videos for a better understanding of how it should work. With that said, Id still buy it again now that I know how to get the A/C mounted in the window with the bracket.

I thought we were going to have to hire someone to secure our window air conditioner in the attic, but this works GREAT!! It was easy to assemble, and easy to install in the window. The air conditioner is now securely in place. When I was searching some commenters thought it was too expensive, but I would rather pay a little more to have something I know is secure. We just had new siding and windows installed last year, so we also like that this doesnt need to be attached to the outside wall to be secure -- so there are no holes in our new exterior!! Love it!!

Purchased this specific model because the window is visible from the street and we wanted to be able to remove the AC when no longer needed without leaving an ugly support in place. I think they designed it to support twice the weight of any model AC just in case. Incredibly sturdy and the pins allow for minute adjustment to ensure a perfect angle for your AC to drain. Only draw back is just how much more it costs than a standard model. Bit too much more. I would have continued to shop around but were out of time with company arriving.

This AC support was easy to assemble and install. No drilling required was the best part. This support made installing a 160lb window AC much much easier. Make you measure your AC prior to purchasing this AC support. Take note of the recommended usage. Reach out if you have questions. You may be able to still use it if you have a 2 piece AC.

Things you should be aware of: 1) According to the manufacturer, even though it appears on Amazon as if this is being sold by the manufacturer it isnt, and shame on Amazon for not including.... 2) The product is not compatible with the type of heavy window unit where the sleeve and the chassis (the guts of the AC) are two separate pieces. The only way you find this out is by visiting the manufacturers store page on their website. 3) Product is dead easy to install but you will need to insulate the trough behind the adjustment brackets otherwise youll have free flowing air through your window underneath your AC. 4) Excellent customer service from the manufacturer despite the fact that I did not buy from him. The three stars is less for the quality of the product than it is for the experience I had with purchasing then finding out I cant use, or now return because the packaging is already gone.

The bracket is sturdy metal. It goes together and installs easily and should work well. The problem with mine is the front support wing lock pin was broken upon arrival and sitting in the bottom of the box. Some of the paint is also chipped, which will cause faster rusting in Seattle weather. I can fix this, but should not have to for this price. I am waiting for a reply from their customer service and hope they will just send a replacement wing rather than having to hassle returning the whole thing. If they send a replacement, Ill be able to increase the sturdiness to 4 stars The leg lock pins do not go into both holes at the same time as some others noted. I thought they were broken, but the instructions note only one pin locks at a time. *Update 7/8/21: The Top Shelf Team was quick and responsive. They replied quickly and sent a new wing to replace the broken one. Kudos and thank you to them. Upgraded rating to 4 stars.

Storm windows are a pain for window ACs. You typically need at least an inch of vertical space. In my case in addition to drilling a piece of wood to the window sill to rest the bracket on, the AC curtain was at least two inches behind the brackets design position for it (thick window molding). As a result there was a 2-3 inch vertical gap below the curtain and 1-2 inch gap below the AC unit itself. Its a fair amount of space to insulate. In the end installation was more work than a pair of bricks in a neighboring room and didnt feel much more secure. I have a bit of buyers remorse after spending $100.

Good idea, easy to install but didn’t fit our windowsill. It left a gap all along the bottom of the ac, not even tape would help.

Ordered 3 of these for rental units and will probably get more for my mom’s house. Yes they are expensive but the ease of installation, the fact that they don’t damage the new vinyl siding, and the solid support they are worth it. I watched the video before putting it together. Literally a 5-min installation for me (female, age 50 with back issues). My husband normally tackles the annual a/c install and removal but this year i did it no problem. And there was no worries that they woukd fall on people below. After one full season of use I do see minor rust on a couple places but a wipedown and a bit of metal paint will keep them in good shape.

Every AC unit that says its an easy install for windows lies (at least based on how my windows are set up) and although the price is steep, it makes installation a breeze for all unit sizes (works so well I bought 2). If you have difficulty getting your unit in the window every summer this is worth relieving the stress of that process. in terms of durability time will tell. given the perceived strength of the components im surprised it doesnt have a longer warranty which is a little frustrating but otherwise im satisfied.
