> 24 hourBought this little guy with the intent to use it to monitor power consumption on my 3d printer. Of course we decided to use it on the Xmas tree first. The plug linked up well with my google home and its as simple as saying hey google turn on the Christmas Tree I like the fact that i can check it when i am away from home and make sure everything is turned off just in case we forget. We also set up a schedule so the light turns off every night around bed time, just as an extra safety feature. As a side perk i have been randomly turning the light on while my girlfriend is home to make her think the house is haunted.

> 24 hourPlease be aware that in a power outage it will not turn back on by itself. To overcome this I set a turn on schedule in the app for every few hours on a fridge. It’s not like flipping a light switch, so it just insures it’s on. I’m no Fire Marshal, but I don’t know why they don’t point this out. Too bad it’s not an option in the app to have it turn itself on every few hours. I have these rectangle ones and the one that covers the other outlet and they all work fine with the app. BTW, set an off time for sprinklers and such and that’s your duration if you are in charge of these things around the house. Pretty cool and easy now to be able to monitor sprinklers (and anything else) from anywhere with just this one app if you toss your old timer and just use the sprinkler wall wart in this outlet wired directly to the valve (with an inline fuse!). You will need one sprinkler wall wart(<$20) and outlet for each zone.

> 24 hourThe device has the same exact model number as the earlier flashable devices. I believe it still utilizes the ESP8266 but has the new Tuya firmware. Works Ok as a Tuya device.

> 24 hourJust wanted to post that after trying and returning lots of other plugs, I received these today and have confirmed that as of today, these plugs are compatible with Tasmota, plashed with Tuya-Convert (Raspberry Pi with an ESP32 donor module), The plugs were marked as both 1811Ver1.0.0 and 1812Ver1.0.0. The only downside is that these plugs are a little too big to allow two of them to fit into the outlet at the same time. You cant really even plug another regular cord into the outlet plate when this plug is plugged into the outlet. But on the positive side, it appears that these plugs have power consumption monitoring, so maybe kind of like a Kill-A-Watt can provide? not sure yet. Well also have to see if Tasmota and/or Home Assistant can read the current consumption.

> 24 hourFirmware has been patched out of the box as of May 2022. Device is ultrasonically welded, and as such is impossible to get to for serial programming. Worthless for my needs, returning. Probably still works if you want your data stolen by Tuya or you want to eventually get forced into a monthly subscription.

> 24 hourI was pleased with these; easily configured to work w/ google home... working well for months... love the power usage monitoring... yet we had a power outage - for 3 hours... and now I need to completely reprogram them ! That alone is annoying enough that it would prevent me from purchasing more of these, and looking for a smarter option that doesnt require re-provisioning after power outage .

> 24 hourOk, at this price point I wasnt overly hopeful it was going to be a great product. I had an issue with Drone batteries. Its not good to keep them on a charger, and after a set amount of days they are programed to discharge by design. When you lose 4 of them due to sitting on a charger @ $250 bucks each.... Yes, you need to find a solution quickly. Im a first responder and we use drones in some scenarios. I need the batteries charged, but I cant leave them on the charger. Also cant allow them to die when I need them charged. So I tried this product and thought Ill just set a schedule. You can set it to turn on at a set day, and charge for however long you need. It also sends a message stating it started as well finished. I took the other one and turn my lights on and off with it (attached to google home). I have to say bang for the buck is amazing. I have seen no issue with mine. I can control on and off site. When I get an alert we need the drone, I can just manually turn on charger to top them off. And when not needed it cycles the batteries once a week making it a perfect solution. I love it ! Going to get another set for sure.

> 24 hourI like the switch a lot, however like all devices of this type it need firmware update to work correctly. Once I updated the firmware it is working fine and I love the power monitoring option since I use it with room oil heaters. I would recommend it, but also make sure you buy WiFi switch with larger rating ie 1800W for a heater that is less than 1800W. This ensures you will not burn the WiFi plug with overloading it.

> 24 hourI love this plug. Only two minor things and a suggestion. It is a bit of a pain to setup due to being only 2.4 ghz and having that smart band switching I really like the power monitoring, and something I just want to monitor power, so I would like to set the power on state. Also with power monitoring I would like to see a grouping alart for useage. But honestly, great little plug, easy to use, full of features, and a great price!

> 24 hourWorking all over the house with no booster in the router. worked on the fridge till I pushed it back against the wall. Fixed that by plugging it into a power strip on the side of the fridge. Freezer and torch on back porch no problem. Power usage very useful info. Probably need to replace the fridge. I have the app on my phone and tablet. the tablet seems more responsive than the phone when you touch an icon. I have 11 of these in use now. most of them the square ones. two fit in a wall socket. The 10 amp rating has been no issue even on the fridge or freezer.
