Totes Blue Line Golf Size Auto Open/Close Umbrella, Water Repellent Canopy, Black

This umbrella is great - Ive orders about 4 of these over the years and they last a long time and are wind resistant!

I keep this item in my car just in case it rains. Its compact but yet offers good coverage. I like totes umbrellas and this one does the job.

I had grown tired of relying on a compact folding umbrella. While a compact umbrella folded away nicely into my work bag, it simply wasnt wide enough to shield all of me from the rain. Worse, if I tried to orient the umbrella to cover my shoulders and self all the way, my work bag hanging off my shoulder and to the side would get wet. So I decided to err.. splurge $23 on this umbrella. And I can safely say Im satisfied. The best thing about this umbrella is how it opens up to a generous, all-encompassing golf size, and yet folds into a length thats not much longer than a compact umbrella. The 14.5 folded size fits very easily into my laptop bag (which is supped to house up to a 15 laptop). The fabric is certainly waterproof, the handle seems solid, and the open/close button mechanism seems reliable. The only thing I wished they improve is the slight looseness or play exhibited by the tensioned open/close mechanism (cicular part you hold and pull down to close the umbrella to folding height). Theres a certain springiness to it as I walk around that gives me the feeling it might turn rickety one day. But so far it works well and keeps my dry without me having to constantly aim the umbrella over myself. PROS: + The open size is spacious, and the folded size is easy to tote around + Push-button for open/close is convenient + Distinct blue colour looks nice CONS: - Open/close mechanism feels a little loose

Seriously, it is a pretty good umbrella, as Totes usually are. I keep one in my bag for commuting and use it occasionally, but I have had to replace it every couple of years. I do not use it very often or for long periods of time, but it has failed. A good breeze will easily flip it inside out and it wont be long until one of the frame arms bend/break. For the money, I just keep buying new ones, as needed.

A bit bigger then the regular Totes which serves us well as my wife is in a wheelchair. That said it folds up nicely and is easy to carry and store.

The umbrella is keeps most of my 6 foot tall body dry, collapses small enough to fit in the space between the drivers door and the front car seat.

First one was rips and tears, second was being pushed inside out by storm and never recovered, they also tend to rust and the handle elastic falls off after awhile. Unfortunately tho its the best umbrella for most surface area for its most compact backpack fitting size. Its a real shame its so expensive when you have to replace it after 9 months or so

Great umbrella for when you need something that provides a lot of coverage but packs up in a portable package. I decided to buy this since my city gets pretty windy when it rains, so smaller umbrellas were just leaving my pants entirely soaked. At the same time, I needed something a little more portable since I like to carry my umbrella in my bag whenever the forecast suggests it might rain. This umbrella fairs perfectly in the stopping water from touching you from above category, as do most other umbrellas. This one has the significant advantage of being huge and being able to cover you, your personal items/bags, and one other person and their belongings comfortably. In fact, you can easily squeeze three people under it and not get wet if you dont have any belongings. You get all that coverage AND it packs up into the size of a regular small folding umbrella. However, since its that large and folds, its a little weak when it comes to wind. I often feel it moving in my hands when Im walking in wind, and anything more than 10-15 mph winds will be hard to hold it up straight in. So far, Ive had it flip inside-out 4 times, so I have to admit that its not the greatest umbrella to bring out on a windy day. However, I have to admit that Ive never had an umbrella collapse on me 4 times and still keep working. Perfectly. Without any issues. Even the auto open/close. So its tough. Buy this, but not if your city is very windy.
