> 3 dayI had this same line of auto umbrella for 6 years. Where Im at it rains 150 in/year and umbrellas are common, however this size auto umbrella is not found anywhere near me. All are those small purse type that covers half of ones body, and in my case useless when theres wind. This umbrella is small when closed and golf sized when open and closes quickly when I need to get in the car. Perfect. I needed another umbrella because I lost my original one. I read somewhere that the typical life of an umbrella is 2 years. While this lasted me longer, its not bullet proof. I took good care of it over the years and it kept me dry. Of course Id recommend it.

> 3 dayWorks well but theres noticeable slop when open which is why I took off a star. I bought a smaller no-name umbrella to keep in my vehicle and it seems to be better made than this.

> 3 dayI purchase this umbrella about a year and a half ago, and after using it in a torrential downpour last night, felt compelled to write a review for this fantastic item. In the eighteen months I have owned this umbrella, it has kept me dry in countless rainstorms in New York, including ones with significant wind gusts (such as those found in the wind tunnels that form between the citys skyscrapers). Not once has the canopy or the aluminum supports failed, even as Ive watched those around me ditch their crumpled, destroyed umbrellas in sidewalk trash cans. This is especially amazing given how big this umbrella is, canopy-wise. It really is golf-umbrella sized, and as a 63 person, it keeps me fully dry from the knees up in raining sideways storms, and fully dry in vertical rainstorms. Despite its impressive reach, it still folds down to a very compact size - bit slimmer than the 17oz Swell bottle I keep in the other side pocked of my backpack. The included sleeve is also very nice for storing the umbrella, wet or not. And finally, Ill mention the opening and closing mechanism. It is so great to be able to pop it open with one click, and not have to worry about fighting a slider to push up the canopy. Moreover, as youre approaching your destination, it is quite easy to click the button again just as you open the door, and have the canopy collapse down. No more fighting to close an umbrella outside, resulting in you being as wet as you would have been had you not had an umbrella at all, just before getting to you destination. A quick click of the Totes, and you can walk in easily, staying dry throughout.

> 3 dayVery nice and sturdy umbrella. I had my first one for many years, but recently lost it somewhere in NYC and couldnt find it, so I order the same one again. The price, compared to the one before, is a bit higher, due to inflation I guess. You can open the umbrella all the way with one button, but you cant fully close it, as the advertisement suggests. Truth is the canopy will fold back but the shaft will not release down. You have to manually bring the shaft down to lock it in place.

> 3 dayI once had a Totes-branded golf-sized stick umbrella long ago. I loved the coverage that offered plus the auto-open/close; I wanted something similar. I was surprised to find folding golf umbrellas. I took the plunge with this one. As of this writing, Ive had it for over a full year. I keep this umbrella on my daily backpack. Slips into the side pocket without standing out too much. Plenty of coverage when opened. One hand operation is very useful when entering/exiting trains, buses, or buildings. However, I have to be careful in heavy winds around here. This umbrella has flipped on me several times. Each time that happened, I find myself with a section of it ripped loose from its rib at a folding point. The canopy is attached there with basic thread. The thread just breaks with stress of being flipped open. Ive had to repair two breaks. A third is still extant because there is no residual thread for me to tie back. (I think this was a previous break, so that might be why the thread is completely gone.) If I could without affecting the integrity of the canopy (i.e. put holes in it thatll let water through), Id reinforce/replace the threads with something stronger, like a couple of loops of fishing line or some Kevlar threads. For the cost, I expected a bit more resiliency in the materials. Still, even with this problem, I find this umbrella quite useful. I just have to be a bit careful when rolling it up for storage. Everything else is working fine. On the flip-side (pun not intended), Ill be looking at the Titan-series umbrellas if/when I need to replace this one in the future.

> 3 dayWhen open, this umbrella certainly gets the job done by keeping you dry and is large enough to keep another person dry as well. It has a push button feature to open which is convenient but, wish the button would work to close the umbrella, as you have to unlatch it as with any standard umbrella. Also, this umbrella when completely stored and bundled up, its a little thick and heavier compared to your standard compact umbrella, but go figure, at least itll fit in your bag compared to your regular golf umbrella which you have to carry around like a cane.
