We bought for our daughter for college and we just moved her home and I asked her about it and she said it never would open up correctly so she never used it. Such a bummer.

This Tote Auto Open - Auto Close Umbrella works really well. I have tried many umbrellas claiming open/close features that only opened. This does both well and has held up for months. It is perfect for one person and good for two people. It can store in a briefcase.

It isn’t exactly golf size as it was advertised so I was a bit surprised. It’s a good umbrella, but it said golf sized. Instead this is a good smallish umbrella that is portable and easy to store in your car. If you’re ant a golf size umbrella, you need to buy one and the type that’s the size of a cane.

Difficult to close with wet hands on a rainy day. Also a hazard is opens too quickly.

Just what my wife needed when she takes her mother out in the rain. Great purchase.

I once had a Totes-branded golf-sized stick umbrella long ago. I loved the coverage that offered plus the auto-open/close; I wanted something similar. I was surprised to find folding golf umbrellas. I took the plunge with this one. As of this writing, Ive had it for over a full year. I keep this umbrella on my daily backpack. Slips into the side pocket without standing out too much. Plenty of coverage when opened. One hand operation is very useful when entering/exiting trains, buses, or buildings. However, I have to be careful in heavy winds around here. This umbrella has flipped on me several times. Each time that happened, I find myself with a section of it ripped loose from its rib at a folding point. The canopy is attached there with basic thread. The thread just breaks with stress of being flipped open. Ive had to repair two breaks. A third is still extant because there is no residual thread for me to tie back. (I think this was a previous break, so that might be why the thread is completely gone.) If I could without affecting the integrity of the canopy (i.e. put holes in it thatll let water through), Id reinforce/replace the threads with something stronger, like a couple of loops of fishing line or some Kevlar threads. For the cost, I expected a bit more resiliency in the materials. Still, even with this problem, I find this umbrella quite useful. I just have to be a bit careful when rolling it up for storage. Everything else is working fine. On the flip-side (pun not intended), Ill be looking at the Titan-series umbrellas if/when I need to replace this one in the future.

I bought this umbrella because it seems to be large enough to cover both my wife and I while walking in the rain, but folds down compact enough to not be a bother when it isnt raining. It does exactly what it should. Opens big, closes small. A solid tool. I havent been in a super windy rainstorm yet so I cannot comment on its durability on that front, but based on current performance I would replace it should it get lost or stolen.

    Greater than one week

I bought this to replace a similar auto open/close Totes umbrella I bought 10 years ago. They used to have soft foam on the handles, but the handle on this one is coated with rubberized soft-touch material that was sticky right out of the box -- not enough to leave goop on your hands, but enough to feel gross and unpleasant. I was able to scrub all the sticky soft touch stuff off with a toothbrush and lots of isopropyl alcohol, and now its a regular plastic handle which is fine. Handle aside, this umbrella umbrellas just fine, and the auto up/auto down work as intended (and are nice to have!) That said though, if I had known about the handle situation before buying I wouldve bought something different.

This umbrella is great - Ive orders about 4 of these over the years and they last a long time and are wind resistant!

It allows me not to get wet in the rain

You don’t have to choose between maximum coverage and portability. The totes auto open close golf size umbrella combines extra large coverage with easy carry convenience! Easy auto open and close -- one push of a button opens the umbrella, one push closes it -- keeping one hand free when you"re on the go. The oversized 55-inch canopy is large enough to cover 2 people, and the premium ergonomic handle with rubber coating for a comfortable, secure grip even in rainy conditions. Blue detailing adds an aesthetically pleasing look to this classic compact design.
