This is my first try using a tax preparation program. Everyone I know raves about how wonderful Turbo Tax is. After years of doing my taxes by hand and mailing in the return, I felt that maybe it would be less of a trial to use a program that would at least do the math for me, and I could file electronically and avoid the post office. I even had some amazon gift cards to cover the cost, so I got Turbo Tax. To be honest, I think it took me just as long to do my taxes with the program as it would have taken by hand. The electronic filing was nice, but having to pay $19.95 extra to file the state return was an unpleasant surprise. I noticed some glitches in the program. For instance, I noticed on a summary sheet that I had to pay a penalty due to slight underpayment of estimated tax. I was pretty sure this was wrong. I had to fiddle with the program to get it to actually ask me for the numbers to check this. It then said I did not owe the penalty. I had a problem with Virginia adjustments to federal AGI that took forever to figure out. Isnt the point of using this software to avoid such issues? I really found it tedious to go through all sections in the program to enter data. Couldnt they simplify this? The whole process is so divorced from the actual forms that is left me wondering if I would end up with a correct return - I think it was OK, but I did have to look through all the Turbo Tax forms created to feel this way. People who have not done taxes by hand probably would not be bothered with this issue though. All in all, I think I got my taxes done OK, but it cost me almost $100 including the state e file, and I am still a little nervous that there could be a problem hidden in innumerable forms generated. I am not sure if I will use this program next year.

I worked for IRS for 27 years.....and TurboTax (Intuit) is by far the best tax software on the market. The others are just trying to keep up. I always recommend TurboTax to my friends when they ask me tax questions. TT is the most reliable, accurate and easy to use of the home tax preparation software products.

I have a small business based from my home. I have used Turbo Tax to prepare our taxes for the last 5 years. It gives you step by step instructions, so you do not miss any deduction. I keep track of all my bookkeeping on Quick Books and when it is tax time, Turbo Tax merges everything from Quick Books into the tax documents. Which this saves me a boat load of time. If you are unsure of a deduction, it has a quick reference guide to explain the deduction to you in an easy format. With this feature you know for sure if you are actually entitled to the deduction. You never have to read up on the new tax laws because Turbo Tax already has all the new tax law updates built right in or updates them for you automatically. It also has a automatic error check to make all blanks have been completed. I would highly recommend this product.

Amazon always has the lowest prices on the products they sell. I was watching the prices on Turbo Tax home and business software because that is what I have been using for the past 6-7 years to do my taxes. I was waiting for Office Depot and Staples to bring their price down on this product but when I saw the price that Amazon was selling Turbo Tax for I had to get it. I just knew that the other stores could not match the Amazon price for such a great product. Turbo Tax is a great product that is easy to use and you can ask for help on anything you have trouble with - easy and on-line.

I have used TurboTax for the past 3-4 years to file my taxes. It is super easy to use. I think this year they even improved on the user interface. It was more cost effective purchasing through Amazon.com then any other place I found (online or offline). I would recommend this product to anyone.

I love Turbo tax. It makes filing my taxes SO much easier. I can easily download my information from Quicken and BOOM! I am pretty much done! What a relief! I have always been completely terrified of doing my own taxes because, even though I am an avid reader, I just cant read tax forms,,,my brain shuts down...panic, perhaps? :) Somehow, with Turbo Tax and the way it is set up with bright colors, graphics, one question at a time and additional information/clarification as well as a community forum...it just feels more doable. I have been using Turbo Tax for at least 5 years. I have a small business too so this is a lifesaver!

My second year using this product. It is very easy to use, very intuitive, you can have it interview you or if you have decent tax knowledge you can navigate thru it yourself. I like the automatic downloading of your W2, 1009 data from its partners like ADP. The e-file is also easy and reliable, and if you use it in successive years it automatically accesses last years information and populates common fields and allows you to edit them if you wish. Well worth the money.
