I was amazed that you can get a 1TB hard drive for this price! Western Digital has a good reputation and the hard drive is nice, small and light. Other than downloading some software from the WD web site, there was nothing to install it--just plug it into your PCs USB port. It came in just a few days--without me using any premium shipping. Im very satisfied!!

It is completely useless after a couple of weeks! I use it as an extended storage device for my Ps4 and from I read from other reviews, others did this as well so I followed and turned out great as a self Christmas gift. It worked fine for the first two weeks and recently, its went straight to the trash. All my files got corrupted none the less, the My Passport took it upon itself to delete all my game application files on it. This ticked me off so much. Do keep in my i didnt touch it nor disconnect it without the proper way. So I did what anyone else would do, go through countless hours re-downloading my game application such as Gta5, WW2, Destiny 2, Fortnite, etc. So finally, after all is done, after all of my time and effort to download everything back, it plays fine for no less than two hours and kicks me out of my current game, telling me the file has been corrupt once more!!! Now it doesnt stop blinking, I cant even access it anymore with my Ps4 nor re-format it to reuse it. This is ridiculous! If you think this only happens to every other person, I thought the same, now look where I stand, dont be that person to buy this product and stand in my shoes later on after. Never will buy from this Manufacturer or Seller again! Waste of my money and time!!!!!!!

This had lots of storage space to get all my pictures off of camera and phones and get them in 1 place.

At first I was very confused because I have a MacBook Air. If you are looking to just download music on the hard drive the process is a little bit different. You have to: - Insert the cord into you computer - Go to Disk Utility - Click My Passport - Go to Erase - Click ExFAT if you want it to be compatible with Mac & PC - Click Done It is literally that simple.

I bought this back in 2018 didnt even use but maybe a couple of times - it sat around for years and then thought yeah Im going to move all my vids and pics to it. Well it doesnt work. It will not initialize, computer doesnt recognize it. Do a search on the web for My Passport has fatal error - there is no help other then to say try a different computer of coarse by a new cable did that and some other check disk stuff, no way around it. There is no way out of this error. Wasted Money.

I like the size and reliability. Its not a stick that can get lost or misplaced. I would warn this drive is delicate and shouldnt be moved around a lot as it has moving/spinning parts inside. Would recommend getting a longer USB cable (model specific).

I cant answer any questions on tech support because Ive never needed it. This is the third WD passport external drive Ive purchased in the past few years and the best in storage capacity. All our drives work on a daily basis and weve never had an issue. These drives are connected to an old Windows XP system and Windows 7 professional desktop computers.

The best portable drive on the market. After 30+ years of servicing computers for a living - and 14 years of doing data recovery in the Dallas, Texas area, the only brand of hard drive I use / sell is Western Digital. They have the best performance and reliability. Period. While these pre-built mobile drives are not the high end of the WD range, they are reliable and reasonably priced. You can only do better if you buy the Black drives and put them in your own enclosure, which is a lot more expensive.

My laptop only has a 256 GB SSD, so this was a great buy for the price. Ive read that I can install another hard drive into my laptop, but I dont feel comfortable doing that. Im a college kid and gamer so 256 GB is literally nothing when you think games like WoW take up 70 ish gigs. I can also store photos and I love that this drive includes a cloud based back up. If/when the drive dies, Ill always have access to my files. This is really a smart purchase if your current system doesnt have enough space and you want to free up space by using a spare drive/cloud back up.

Have had a WD Passport in the past, and needed an additional one so went with the product I trusted. Thought the new build was very sleek. Purchased it, came with wonderfully designed packaging and promptly on time. But, upon plugging it into the computer the hard drive would not launch. Tried multiple product fixes on their site but nothing worked. Googled a lot and ended up finding out my brand new drive must be corrupt. Contacted the company and havent heard anything back yet. Used to love this brand, but now frustrated. UPDATE--- Contacted the company and they took me step by step through how to fix this issue. Very helpful and kind, and did without a fuss. Love this company.

My Passport is the trusted, portable storage that perfectly complements your on-the-go lifestyle. Designed to fit in the palm of your hand, there’s plenty of space to store a massive amount of photos, videos, music and documents. Perfectly paired with WD Backup software and password protection, the My Passport drive helps keep your files safe.
