Bought this for my PS5 as I needed more storage and since it was recommended by Song and the price was Perfect and Size I bought it and put it in my PS5.

Got the 4tb for my ps5 and very happy.

This is perfect for the OS drive on a workstation I built- its truly fast. Installation was a breeze and the data rates are simply amazing. Storage sure has come a long way since my first Western Digital drive- which was 10 megabytes on an MFM 8-bit controller!

I have ten different M.2 drives, all but one are NVMe, one is SATA. Five like this one are gen 4. I actually have two of these drives and the only other one that is in this speed class is a Samsung 980PRO. I purchased this drive after scouring reviews and looking at specifications, then looking for the price break point, and the best available deal. I was able to get this drive for $99.00. I have attached a screen capture of the CrystalMark numbers from a machine with a core i7-1260p and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. Not up to the rating numbers from the manufacturer, but pretty fast none the less. After running the test the driver was at 125 degrees F. I am pretty pleased with the performance of the drive so far, but while the durability ratings are good, only time will tell in real world use. I purchased two of these drives to allow me to keep an updated clone of the system which I could swap into the system if I had a failure. Hopefully, it will be insurance that I wont have to use.

This drive failed after 9 months. It took Western Digital over a month to replace it. The replacement lasted 3 months. It was returned for replacement 3 weeks ago. The WD website show the status as pending return. A spokesperson from WD looked at the UPS tracking information and agreed that they did in fact receive it. The computer case this was installed in is a full tower with 4 fans blowing cool air into and toward the drive. It is not an overheating issue. The motherboard is new along with the power supply. When it works the drive is extremely fast! Too bad they dont last. Done with WD.

Quite please. Wish it was bigger

This is an absolute excellent NVMe Gen 4 drive. Super-fast with great software. I dont think I would need anything faster since the NVMe Gen5 have to have huge heat sinks and they also get very hot. Very happy with this NVMe made by Western Digital. Bought a larger one for my data and this one runs my operating system. Would absolutely buy again and highly recommend Western Digital. THey have always been on the top for quality and speed for decades.

Took me 2 minutes to install it on my ps5 and it works beautifully.
