Wanted to get a relatively cheap laptop with a 1080p screen that could do mainly basic functions like watching videos from various streaming services (Youtube/Twitch/Netflix) in Chrome. This POS cant even do that properly. RAM runs at 100% while idle because 4gb is barely enough for just the operating system to function, and just having chrome open is enough to push the CPU to 100% as well, so doing nearly anything is extremely slow. Screen is 1080p but the quality is not great. I dont know what super geniuses thought to put the cooling fan in front of the keyboard instead of on the side, but it makes it sound like a tornado whenever it is doing anything at all, even idling. Oh and also if this thing is anywhere near you while you are sleeping, be ready for the fans to rev up to max randomly, out of nowhere, while its in sleep mode and wake you up, for no reason. Sound is also very quiet, you need to crank it up to 50/60 to hear pretty much anything.

Easy to upgrade!

It was a real challenge to change from the Edge browser to Google Chrome and I had to call ACER support to accomplish it. But that probably had more to do with my own ignorance than anything else. Ive had this new laptop for only a few days & so far I like it, but I wish the keyboard would light up the way my old ACER keyboard did. Other than that, Im satisfied with this Aspire 5.

speakers onboard are weak volume but ear pods pair easy enough. great for surfing web and watching live feeds

La compre hace dos meses y se empezó a apagar aleatoriamente, a alguien le pasa algo similar?

La computadora me ha parecido increíble hasta ahora, me encanta, he trabajado muy bien con ella hasta ahora, solo me ha presentado cierto desface en la pantalla cuando estoy muy atareada en realidad no se cual seria la razón pero del resto se ha comportado muy bien, los programan ruedan muy bien. En líneas generales el comportamiento tiene 18/20

Became unusable after first update which was required after setup. On startup, after the Acer logo disappears, a blue error screen pops up and restarts the computer. It just keeps repeating...Acer logo...blue screen...restart...Acer logo...blue screen...restart... Its caught in this death loop with no way to enter another command. Dont need a brand new computer that needs to be fixed after setup.

I wanted a cheap semi-reliable laptop and this piece of crap died the second day. The wifi randomly decided to stop functioning, the power shuts off at random intervals without the battery life actually going down, and as a whole it’s probably just not worth the trouble. I wouldn’t buy this laptop if I were you.

I would not recommend this laptop. I have only had it for a little over 2 months, but it is already starting to give me problems. The webcam will not work most of the time. It says no webcam is detected. It has also started freezing up regularly and the laptop itself heats up. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money and getting something more dependable.
