Continental GatorSkin DuraSkin Tire

Well, I start saying that today I rode my road bike as usually, but whith a brand new tires, (this tires) in 2 miles going down hill at 35mph FRONT tire blown out. I stoped and checked to see what when wrong, it was the front tire. I was lucky to be an experience rider, if not I will ended up having a tragedy (hard fall, or worst). I highly not recommended this brand (or model) to anyone, I did a lot of researche before this purchase but I ended up trusting my guts (shame on me). Please see pictures to understand what I just said, this happened within my first two miles, I rode with this tires.

Tire ruptured after the first tire change. Will never buy this brand again.

I havent had a flat since Ive purchased these, and when compared to my stock tires where I would go through a tube a week these have saved me a lot of money in the long run. I truthfully cant recommend them enough. Edit: Even after this insane price hike theyre still worth it. But look elsewhere for cheaper ones. I paid $60 for mine. (They are a little difficult to put on the first time. I also dont use levers though.)

3-4 flats since I changed tires. notices a few holes in the back wheel.

I just installed these so can’t say for sure how durable they’ll be over time. They have a great reputation though and they feel very tough. Will update if necessary.

These excellent German-made tires are the only ones I now buy, having been through several brands, including the Specialized Armadillos. I commute to work 4 days per week on a road bike. I have ridden through the same scattering of broken windshield glass in two separate areas of bike lane for over 2 months. I changed these skins, not because they got a leak, but because after about 3 years of riding the rubber is actually peeling off to reveal the Kevlar weave beneath. Worth every penny because I VIRTUALLY NEVER HAVE TO CHANGE A TUBE. I feel like I should own stock in Continental because of these. If this tire were a Christian woman and I was single I would speak to her father and propose to her, and have up to 11 children with her after marrying her and giving up my life for her.

I ride the 23mms. These tires WILL REDUCE your flats. I ride a lot of miles. This is my 3rd and last set. I really want to love these, but have had 2 issues. 1) Two of the six have had chuncks of rubber just come off. They were on the front both times. 2) Two more have had the strands of the sidewall thread just peel off and get wound around the hubs. Going back to Vittoria Roubino pros or might try michelin power comps.
