Ive got less than one full charge of battery time on it so far. This thing is bright. I usually set it back three or four feet from the problem at hand. It puts enough light out that reflections and scattering wipe out most shadows. Great for plumbing and electrical work. The only nits are that you need to put a carabiner or something similar on the loop to hook it to a pipe. And yes the battery pack is a little bit loose. Not enough that it seems to make any difference. And it would be handy if you could step down to two or one LED instead of all three. Presumably the battery life would double or triple, and even one LED would be enough for many jobs. If you already have one or two 20V battery packs it makes the cost a lot more bearable

Great Amazon Prime Price at $69 versus $99-$109 at big name stores. Also, this model is still DCL043 HOWEVER it is the Type 2 version. They removed the 1 Red LED setting. Now the light utilizes all 4 LEDs for High and Low settings. The older Type 1 version uses 3 White LEDs for High setting and 1 Red LED for a better night vision setting. Both versions are great and work great with DeWalt XR batteries and FlexVolt batteries. User preference is what matters here and I was unaware of the change at the time of purchase. I recommend both versions either way.

I buy stuff & tools just to have it or when new stuff comes out. As i see it, One always needs a spotlight for SOMETHING or on occasion but for me I always lose or cant find mine, or they grow legs or disappear after you loan them out. So i eventually bought several of the old krypton bulb jobs, and keep one in each of my cars...As i had so many already I seemingly couldnt justify the added cost of this... but on a whim decide to buy it and TRY IT OUT . WELL, I love it. Its a solution looking for a problem and use it more than teh standard bulb old ones. The ratcheting head is nice, as is the hanging strap {vs none on old model} and hence why DeWalt probably put it there? Ive dropped it once or twice already and shes help up & not yet busted ...so Id give this girl 4-5 stars for durabilty so far. Even with the mulitiple LED bulbs { lol, i know..bulbs are bulbs, diodes are diodes,not bulbs} the battery life lasted quite a long time. Granted I was using a 5aH battery but you wont have to worry about getting half thru a job and darn light go dim on ya. For me that WAS a concern usingr NiCd and even older lithium batts inother spotlights but I since developed a habit always having a fully-charged batt there at my LITERAL side where i was working. Thats got pretty expensive having 2 batts on person, 2+ more in charges. And why i ALWAYS buy those older batts during killer sales whether neede or not. I have LOT of 18v niCd & Li batts. Justifying buying ENTIRE new 20v series tools & 20V battery line was major concern. Im medical profession and avid DIYr but I couldnt resist trying this spotlight out. Im also now comfortable having only battery in tool { tho another in charger, somewhere} . NO REGRETS BUYING THIS and since got fewmore 20v tools even tho I barely use my old 18v tools. NOT SURE i will bite on the new FlexVolt system marketing ploy. I WOULD however,wait to buy this ON SALE down the road if ur jst a DIYr and not someone in the business or using spotlight every day. too costly for th average Joe. NOV 2017 UPDTAE: This spotlamp LITERALLY lasted 2.5xLONGER on single battery than the Bosch on same 5aH battery. Will buy ANOTHER of these JUST to keep in car !

This flashlight is an excellent worklight and a must have for those who own any other dewalt 20v max tools or batteries. This flashlight does NOT come with any battery. The light has a single LED with a reflector. The resulting light has a very bright hot spot in the middle with a surrounding circle of light. That said, if you need a flashlight that provides a very wide beam of bright, even light, look elsewhere, or make a light diffuser to go over this flashlight head. Construction is solid.. it has the feel of a drill with the ruberrized grip. Screwholes on either side of the base for installing a drill bit clip and/or a belt clip. However, no clips are included. The flashlight head pivots up and down. I would approximate the range is from -5 degrees (5 degrees below horizontal) to 110 degrees (10 degrees past vertical). Clicks in the hinge allow you to click the head into a desired angle. A hook at the top allows you to hang the flashlight. When not needed, the hook snaps into a retracted position. The flashlight was smaller than i expected, with a thinner handle than dewalt drills. Compact, light, rugged, bright, buy it!

it works as intended, main reason i bought it i have multiple dewalt tools and batteries so just bought the tool. it is super bright has two modes bright and blinding bright, they did away with the hypnosis strobe effect on this light thank goodness, but dont expect this to be a automotive type light source no magnetic, not very positions it can attain, but it does what i need it to do

It works, its really bright. I have a 4amh battery on it and for light nightly use letting dogs out its still has 2/3 lights on battery after 3 weeks. Not sure why someone gives it 1 star for not focusable. Its bright. Done!

Led worklight works great. It stays working as long as 20v battery has a charge. Swivel flash light head is adjustable so you can sit the flashlight down and adjust at what your working on. I dont use it much but works well and highly recommended

We use these for patrolling lines for the power company at night and they are excellent, they shine a very sharp beam a long way away and batteries last good too

it is small fits in my bag and is very brite
