Greater than one weekWhy didnt I buy this years ago! Seriously! I have a fair collection of irons, single wattage, switch selectable, etc. all from big box or Radio Shack. Now, Ive been soldering since I was around 4-5 (dad worked in repairs) I can honestly say Ive never had it so good.

11-06-2025I have used Weller products for years... no more. This Hakko iron heats fast and works great. Its a fraction of the cost of a Weller station. Dont mess with Weller anymore, their quality isnt what it used to be.

> 3 dayHeats up very quickly. I bought some additional tips for the iron because the one that comes with it is a bit large for soldering on circuit boards with integrated circuits.

Greater than one weekLight, Agile, comfortable in the hand; You could spend substantially more $$ and not get a better setup...Im also having very good life from the tips! (I use primarily ALPHA 63/37 or KESTER 44 60/40, both .031) Highly Recommended!

> 3 dayBest unit there is for the money. Totally worth it versus the other crap that is out there. And if you need a shrink wrap blower, you can get one for $20. No need to buy one of those all in one units.

13-06-2025Great iron - you can set the temperature and it heats up fast. The cleaning sponge is poor compared to my old Weller WTCPT station

> 3 dayThis is a great little soldering station. It heats quickly, and I really like the integral cleaning wire built into the base. I am only subtracting one star because I think the digital controls are annoying. Switching back and forth between preset mode and manual mode is not intuitive or user friendly, and in manual mode it takes many separate clicks to tweak the iron temperature. This iron would be perfect if the put back on a dial, and maybe a dedicated manual/preset mode button. Having to reboot the device and navigate a cryptic menu system to switch modes is a pain. (I have to pull out the manual whenever I want to do it!)

Greater than one weekMuch better than my old $20 Weller. Temature control is great and quickly heats up. I love this thing, makes soldering so much more fun. It feels well built as well.
