Engineer SS-02 Solder Suction Device

> 24 hourI had to de-solder switches from a computer keyboard PCB. I have spent a decent amount of time soldering but have never had to de-solder. This solder sucker made the process ridiculously easy. Depress the plunger, heat the solder, hold the sucker on the solder, and press the button. The pump instantly sucks the solder away. I use the super short silicone tip that came pre-installed on the sucker (it also comes with a much longer one). Some other reviewers have mentioned solder getting stuck in the device. That has never happened for me, possibly because I use the short silicone tip. The plunger consistently pushes solder right back out the tip. Overall build quality is good. Seems like itll hold up well over time. Solid 5 stars. Made the desoldering process pretty fun, honestly.

> 24 hourThis is, hands down, the best solder sucker I have ever used in my 45+ years of playing with molten tin and lead. Follow the directions, clean the solder out as youre going, and you will not be disappointed.

> 24 hourThis thing is shocking at the quality of suction it pulls in. I can already understand why people whine about it needing to be cleared and so forth, but that is, for me at least a non-issue. My previous solder sucker had that problem and it did a poor job at pulling in the solder. Ive yet to notice any issue with the silicone melting, but Im also only using this on a keyboard so Ive not had to use very high heat. The suction is as good as it gets and the product just oozes that mythical YouTube TechTuber Quality feel in the hands. For me, this was a massive step up and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of quality suction to remove solder.

> 24 hourThe replaceable high temperature nozzle is a plus. Overall the device is well suited for desoldering a multi layer PCB populated with small to medium sized pin components. I used it to repair a refrigerator control board that had failed form C PCB mount relays. I managed to remove the defective parts and open the plate through holes to put the new relays on.

> 24 hourThis is absolutely worth the price. It performs infinitely better than the inexpensive ( ~ $5 ?) plastic solder suckers.

> 24 hourIf you are still using the cheap blue plastic ones that come with a solder kit, throw it away and get this. $20 may seem a little expensive but its well worth it. There is a silicone tip that allows you to isolate the solder point to allow the suction to actually work much better than just a plastic tip. All in all, if you solder anything on electronics, this is a must have.

> 24 hourI dont know how I lived without one of these. It wont replace your solder braid for some things, but it will remove whatever excess is left over. I used this to remove heavy solder on an old game console, to disassemble an RF module, as well as remove some components. Its fast, strong, does the job and doesnt damage the PCB. The silicone tube tip is holding up well so far but is slightly discolored. I think it will need to be replaced as time goes on. For best results, push toward your iron when the solder goes molten and then hit the button when you pull the iron away. Solder gone. Just be aware, the next time you depress the plunger it will eject a little cylinder of solid solder from whatever you sucked up last. Smaller bits may get stuck, but a few presses or a flick of the thumb will remove it. Only once or twice did I need to pinch out the spent solder. Amazing little tool. I highly recommend it.
