Greater than one weekI thought I could use this to cover the soil of my plants to prevent fungus gnats but I was wrong! However, I just got a dog so I will be using this for her food to keep the bugs out. Loading the puff is difficult & can easily get messy

> 3 dayIt decreased the amount of gnats dramatically after 2 applications. Helps to let soil dry out before applying.

> 3 dayI’m apparently really oblivious because when I bought this I didn’t realize it came with a nifty little tool to spritz the diatomaceous earth around with, but it works really well and the addition of it is much appreciated! I’m using this as a sort of barrier to keep potential (ear) mites from going into my bunny area while I treat them with Revolution so it’s gonna be hard to say if this specifically does anything to help but, I don’t doubt the efficacy.

> 3 dayI had an infestation of YELLOW JACKETS that had almost completely defoliated several of my shrubs in the front of my Georgia home this spring. The included sprayer was easy to assemble and worked like a charm. I was concerned about an earlier review which was not happy with the sprayer. The sprayer has evidently been redesigned and it does the job. Covering the NESTS with the powder eliminated the pests. You must have patience....It took at least a week but the bugs are now gone I am happy and the shrubs have recovered and look great.

> 3 dayI was a little hesitant when I bought this. I keep my place clean, but I have a cat and a neighborhood full of ants. Every summer they come into my house and always find the catfood I have left out for my cat. I have tried everything and nothing has worked long term. However, I laid some of this inside the house and the ants disappeared. I bought food gade and my cat is perfectly good with it. Then I put it around outside and the ants disappeared from my yard (a deck in the back and a small sliver of plants in the front of my house). I have to replace it when it rains hard, but the fact that I dont have to worry about ants in my house makes it 100% worth it. I have already recommended it to anyone and everyone that listens to me. I am now recommending it to you if you have ants. I do not know if it works on all ants, but it did on mine.

> 3 dayI purchased these for use against Argentine ants. The included duster doesnt really dust so much as shoot a stream, so maybe purchase a separate duster if you just want a fine layer. If youre fine with just blasting diatomaceous earth everywhere, then youll be fine with the included duster. This stuff works well against ants. For Argentine ants in particular, use it dust around entry points. Itll cut up and dry out their exoskeletons to kill them, but ultimately it only acts as a deterrent. Ants will stop coming from where you dust and generally stay away from the dusted areas, but they will just find another entry point. This is a band-aid and not a solution. Diatomaceous earth should be used to corral the ants to places you dont mind them being, where you can deploy further baits and potentially pesticides to actually solve the problem. While useful, it should be used as a part of a more complete home infestation treatment. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth where you dont want ants, but keep it away from baits and pesticide treated places so the ants will properly find the means to eliminate themselves.

Greater than one weekI use this all around my house to keep ants, spiders, fleas, any exoskeleton insect away & its magic in a bag! I use it on my cat as a natural & safe flea & tick repellent. If you want to keep bugs away & not use chemicals this is the product. It kills bed bugs also

> 3 dayOk like... Im really not sure how many stars to give this product. Let me explain why. This stuff gets literally everywhere. You know how cornstarch is? Like you just kind of touch it and it sticks to your fingers in this weird chalky layer? Yeah, its like that... except, this stuff aerosolizes easily, meaning that if you even just blow on it the tiniest bit or theres even the smallest gust of wind or even you just move your darn hand, it goes into the air in tiny particles. And those tiny particles.. are horrendous for your lungs. It can lead to all sorts of lung complications. So, just use it inside, right? Yes. Except.. no vacuuming. It will clog your filter and every vacuum Ive ever owned had an exhaust port, meaning that it would just... blow it all into the air if I tried to use it. And then Id breathe in the silicon, sooo thats not good. But whats the big deal, right? Its just silicon. well it turns out that the way Diatomaceous Earth works is that when little critters with exoskeletons walk over it, it cuts them up microscopically. They eventually die! Yay. Except... it also cuts up our lungs. Therefore, when you use this SAFELY, theres nothing wrong with it. Dont breathe it in (and for the love of God dont snort it). However, because of all the safety issues with aerosolizing it, I wont touch the stuff. Even just open the bag creates powder that floats up into the air! Its ridiculous. but the thing is, thats just how it is - any brand of diatomaceous earth will be the same way. So thats why I still give it 4 stars. It also does seem to work to kill ants. Its just that it... gets.. EVERYWHERE. I wish they didnt put the (rather giant) powder applicator IN the bag. Gosh, its so hard to get it off of anywhere... ALSO when you apply it JUST APPLY A TINY MIST. Dont try to drown them like youre adding flour to a cake. It should be a fine mist that you can barely see. If you can see the powder its too much according to the internet. Its just... so hard to apply! If you have to clean it, I recommend wetting the powder that you applied and then wiping it up. I can still see some powder in my carpet near the baseboards and Im scared to clean it because I dont want to breathe it in. :)
