I’ve been using Diatomaceous Earth for several years around the house and in the yard. This purchase came with a thing to spread it around outside, much more convenient & efficient than using a measuring cup to spread it. I’ve found it to be very effective on large anthills outside and along the wall when we had ants inside. I mixed a tbsp or so in my cats’ food when several of them had tapeworms from fleas, put it down along the walls inside the garage, around the border of the house on the outside, under & directly on the front/back deck & porches, and in the crawl space to cut down on bugs. DE is the only pest control method I use, aside from topical/oral flea treatment on my pets, because it’s safe to use around animals and humans! When the exterminator came to do a termite inspection, he commented that was a good choice to control pests around the house, enough said for me!

This stuff works! I live in an older house. Its full of spiders. Mostly brown recluse. Ive tried everything to get rid of them aside from calling an exterminator. I wanted something safe to use because I have a cat. So I tried DE. I havent seen any spiders since I put it down. Earwigs seem to be an issue this year. DE dont kill them but they dont like it. Also the ant invasion on my back porch is almost gone. No beetles, no stink bugs, no snails sliming up my front door! Im telling you bugs wont cross it. Dont be too heavy applying it inside the house. A light dusting is enough. Otherwise you will have a mess thats hard to clean up. Outside will have to be reapplied after it rains.

Packaging is very solid on this. Its a large bag that will last a long time, so the thickness of it is really appreciated, as is the sealable top. The puffer inside is pretty standard. It does its job. I dont LOVE using it, so if I dont need to I use a paintbrush to lightly dust some on. The puffer tends to distribute as much in the air as it does the surface, but thats pretty much guaranteed with any puffer. Thats how they work. The dust then settles into a nice thin layer. I havent found anything better *that continues to work well* in the constant battle to keep roaches out of my home. I have been told it works equally well on poison-resistant bedbugs and fleas., so thats good information to have in a back pocket too, just in case. All in all, I love the product and I always keep it on hand. Would definitely buy again, and will give 5 stars if they come up with a better puffer solution.

I originally purchased this to kill these little bugs we found in our house that look like brown ladybugs. After doing research we found out they are called carpet beetles and might have come after we just had new carpeting installed. Sometimes carpet beetles and bed bugs can be infested in these warehouses where the carpet is stored. Anyways, we were going on vacation and so we put it on our carpet and left for 3 days and when we came back and vacuumed it up we havent seen any since. BE SURE TO USE AN N95 MASK. i had ants in my bathroom and could not get rid of them with bait or spray! but i spread this out everywhere and its been a few weeks and no more ants. really works and i still have so much more powder in the bag. really recommend if you have an ant problem!

I have used DE for years and started when I raised goats. I needed something that would be friendly for animals but take care of insects. I no longer raise goats but I always use this all over my yard for insects because I have a dog and I don’t like pesticides. Their story is amazing and I will continue to buy Harris. I am very pleased and so glad they make this product. Thanks!

My pic isn’t he best however, the product works to deter some pest out of your garden but def not all (I.e ants) as they will just crawl under and around it. Please be advised it is a powder so once it rains or the soil area is wet you will have to reapply the DE to that are (hence why it’s hard to see in my pic as the soil is wet). It can create a hardness in the soil as well if allowed to dry on top of soil after being wet)… overall will keep using it for my garden
