iolo - System Mechanic Pro, Computer Cleaner for Windows, Blocks Viruses and Spyware, Restores System Speed, Software License

I like it much, it does every thing, but it has trouble with SSD drives I think.

Taking care of my computer is what I do and one of my former professor used this software and I thought he was crazy. I asked him you are training us on the most complex and integrate details of how an Operating System works. Why do you need this company to maintain your computer when you know we can do better ourselves because we know how a system operates as much as they would. He told me yes I can maintain my computer but how valuable is my time? If your spending an hour our so servicing your own computer thats time wasted from other things you can be doing. So I purchased this software and have been a customer for about 8 years now and found the best price on their new version at Amazon. Now when you are a customer at least in the past 5 years its cheaper to re-subscribe with the company after already having the software. Yes they bug you about new promotion to extend your time but after a while the software learns your not interested and you need to go to them when your ready. all in all its the most comprehensive amount of tools to protect and service your PC. Virus free for 5 years and some other measures I take as well like I tell my customers YouTube safe web surfing and their are great videos from colleagues of mine that are world recognized experts. The biggest reason they won 5 stars with me is the tools, the service, and customizable, as well as unlimited licenses for the entire household! You cant go wrong with a service that provides your family like mine with new PCs all the time and I can install this on all of them and mine is customized and controlled by me while my parents have it more on Auto pilot and I have peace of mind. Again I have learned as an IT expert that I cant keep up with every change and every update (with XP I could but I was a young and big headed then) This tool helps me utilize my time better and still lets me service my computer how I want to service it because only person I trust to maintain my computer is me and IOLO.

Hard to use on damaged PC.

I do not normally bother writing reviews about products. If they dont work or customer service is poor I just cancel and never buy them again. IOLO has pissed me off enough to actually spend the time to give them a negative review. I strongly recommend avoidance of any and all IOLO products and services. IOLO is extremely aggressive in their marketing and up selling efforts. When I attempted to renew my one year subscription I had a very difficult time getting the deal they were promising me. Every time I contacted customer service I was on hold for an extended period of time and had to argue with the customer service rep to stop trying to upsell me. A month after I renewed I received an email indicating I had signed up for their tech support service which I did not want. There was no online option to cancel so I had to go through customer service and again argue with them to cancel the order they generated and stop the upsell script. Regardless of the marginally effectiveness of their product I will not be renewing with IOLO ever again.

Did not work for me.

This is the second PAID FOR system health application I have removed.

I bought this product for the first time, last year, albeit reluctantly. I had an Ailing Windows 7 box that had plenty of hardware power, but no more gusto. That version of the product, really brought the system back to life and its still running today. I bought this version of the product recently to help out an i7 core ultrabook with an SSD drive that all of a sudden became an absolute slug. I really thought I had a hardware issue the system was so slow. I installed the latest version of System Mechanic Pro on it and ran the software. I was happy to discover that it was just system clutter in the way of temp files, registry issues, and clogged memory. I run the utilities every 1 to 2 weeks and it really does increase the overall system performance. I also really like the unlimited license! We have 4 computers in the house and its really nice not to have to buy extra licenses.

They should clearly state that you are getting a one year license to use the product even if you buy a cd or dvd. After that, it is expired and it does not work. It works as virus protection up to a point. The box says One year of service.... or something to that effect. Why dont they say: one year license to use this product? It would be more clear that way. Somewhat misleading the way it was presented on the box and by the description in the listing for sale.
