iolo - System Mechanic Pro, Computer Cleaner for Windows, Blocks Viruses and Spyware, Restores System Speed, Software License

I ordered this product and once installed it required a license key that should have come with the product and it did not. I then had to download a license key that statement it was good for only 30 days. The advertisement if this product does not state that... my review for this product is a about a 1 for it stinks! Never will I recommend this product to anyone...in fact I would like a refund!!

Had used it in the best with good results but dropped it when I got a new computer back aways. Now that the then-new/now-old computer has gotten painfully slow, I paid for and downloaded System Mechanic-Pro. I couldn t get it to load, so called Tech Support and was told no problem, hook them up for remote access and that have me running faster in no time. Once he had taken over my computer, however, the support person started doing all sorts of things that I couldnt even follow on the screen and commenced to tell me about the other products that I needed. I asked him to ust get the program to do what IT was supposed to do, but, as my computer continued to go wild, threatened to terminate the call if I didnt buy the additional products. I hung up and, since my computer would no longer work at all, went to my wifes computer and requested a refund. I also complained directly to the manufacturer of the program and asked for some help getting the malicious System Mechanic-Pro off my computer. He suggested standard methods that Id already tried and said someone would get back to me to help me further. That hasnt happened yet, but I was able to go to a malware program and finally get rid of the mess that the support: guy made and to delete System Mechanic-Pro and at least the computer is running again. Slowly, but at least it is running.

I do not normally bother writing reviews about products. If they dont work or customer service is poor I just cancel and never buy them again. IOLO has pissed me off enough to actually spend the time to give them a negative review. I strongly recommend avoidance of any and all IOLO products and services. IOLO is extremely aggressive in their marketing and up selling efforts. When I attempted to renew my one year subscription I had a very difficult time getting the deal they were promising me. Every time I contacted customer service I was on hold for an extended period of time and had to argue with the customer service rep to stop trying to upsell me. A month after I renewed I received an email indicating I had signed up for their tech support service which I did not want. There was no online option to cancel so I had to go through customer service and again argue with them to cancel the order they generated and stop the upsell script. Regardless of the marginally effectiveness of their product I will not be renewing with IOLO ever again.

I have been using System Mechanic for 10 years, and it has been pretty good. Recently Iolo has become update-happy (it did two in quick succession today, each time finding problems that were missed earlier - or pretending to). It tells me I have 4 cores in the CPU (LiveBoost, Realtime Status) but Intel specifies that the processor has only 2 cores. 4 threads but 2 cores. I believe Intel. This does not enhance my confidence in System Mechanic. If it cannot accurately detect the CPU, what else is it missing?

Seems to be a good program that works on multiple computers - But sometimes request the CD ? I havent figured out why, yet. I tried installing norton anti-Virus with this .....havent figured how, yet.

Ive been a long time user of Iolo products. System Mechanic Pro is a decent tool. However, their latest software offering has been, at least for me, an extreme disappointment in that I cannot get ANY support for software bought and paid for but which refuses to accept the licensing supplied at time of purchase. Understanding that problems do occur at times, I cannot understand their lack of response to repeated requests for help. It is particularly baffling in view of the fact THEY assigned a case number to my initial request for help. Difficult to recommend a company that refuses to stand behind their products.

Very unhappy. Thought I was buying a new version of System Mechanic as mine expired 9/21, so thought I would just buy new version. The one I received was from 2013!!! Now I have less features and paid same amount as renewal.

From the day I first received this producing in July 2018, I had problems. Wouldnt load then and still will not load now. I also noticed that the programs files on the disk are all dated in Spril, 2015., Yes 2015. So the files were no good when I purchased it.

I have used System Mechanic for more than a decade. It USED to be good. Now System Mechanic Pro with Pheonix 360 option wont remove/fix viruses on my system. Customer service will not answer the phone. The website wont let me sign in to my account and wont send me a link to change password.
