> 24 hourIt is easy to mess up when winding the bobbin and end up with a loose, unusable bobbin when wound. The solution to this problem is to wind from the upright additional spool pin (pointy white plastic thing) which goes in the square hole under the top lid, and route the thread through the back thread guide with the screw on top, NOT the front thread guide. It may be necessary to use a little screwdriver (included) to tighten the thread guide so the bobbin is wound with more tension on the thread, so it winds tight and not loose. When putting the filled bobbin in the machine, be sure to have the thread running COUNTERCLOCKWISE, then pull the thread in the opposite direction and route it through the two little notches on the front of the bobbin holder. There is an arrow pointing to the left, which references that, NOT the whole bobbin direction. I found that arrow confusing and put the bobbin in wrong until I finally figured it out.

> 24 hourI love this machine. Replaced an old Hobby model. It looks really good in black and came with lots of accessories. So far I’ve just used for making face masks, but can’t wait to get back to making some clothes and crafts.

> 24 hourFirst, kudos to the Amazon seller, Faribault Vacuum and Sewing (First Vacuum on Amazon). They shipped the machine immediately, and it arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Set up was simple and the HD-3000BE worked flawlessly right out of the gate. I started off sewing seams with six layers of heavy upholstery fabric, with basting tape sandwiched in between, and the machine hummed along with no hesitation. Bobbin winding is simple and quick. The needle threader saves a ton of time. The built-in storage areas for the accessories and different presser feet means no more losing stuff. This machine is also very quiet, about half as loud as my no-defunct Singer. The HD-3000BE is nice to look at. Glad I got the black version. Its cool. There are some plastic parts to the machine, but there is a lot of metal. It is nice and heavy, which means it does not jump around while stitching. The foot pedal is very easy to control precisely, so I can go through thick materials as slowly as I want. In my opinion, this machine is a good value, is versatile, well made, and easy to use. It checks all the boxes. I recommend potential buyers scroll through the buying options, and choose a seller with the highest rating, even if it costs a couple bucks more.

> 24 hourSews well and comes with a bunch of accessories. My only complaint is the needle has to be manually adjusted up or down to the desired stop position. This takes a bit of getting used to.

> 24 hourWorks very well on thick materials. I now do not have to plead with my wife when I have some thick materials to sew. Appears to be a very rugged machine.
