> 24 hourIm going to try to make this short and simple. Gameplay/Controls: If you have ever played Kingdom Hearts and its sequel, then you may know how it works when you start, except for the Command Deck for your abilities. There are also some mini-games that can be played with other people that have the game localy. The controls are kind of the same, except for the lack of a second analog for the camera,(using L and R for camera), but you might not seem to care because the controls are pretty good for the PSP. Story: The story is suppose to take place before the first Kingdom Hearts game, so your not missing anything if your new to the series. The story involves 3 characters in the game, so theres some replayability to know the full story. Difficulty: The difficulty is pretty fair. Not too easy, not too hard, but dont take my word for it, I havent played past hard yet. In conclusion: If you want to play a fun game, then get this game, just make sure you have at least maybe 700mb of free space to install the game,(load times are long).

> 24 hourAs a PSP owner for a couple of years of now and also an avid fan of the Kingdom Hearts Series, Birth By Sleep the prequel to the Kingdom Hearts Series is a must have for any PSP owner. The graphics is just like the the first KH on the PS2 platform and I must say a very good job to the creators of Square Enix. There is no lag in game battles even though it can get intense while casting magic and creating melee attacks combined with aerial assaults to fight off the Unversed. For me I catch on details pretty quick and I analyze how things go and I must say that the game does a good job with the character voice overs. I have played the Japanese version and for the English version, I have trouble feeling the emotion of Aqua one of the main characters in Birth By Sleep. Its as if the voice over lacks feeling to what she says and as if dry when having conversations with others in each world. It can be repetative if trying to level up magic so that you can create abilities to use like Magic Haste, Hp Plus, etc, and you pretty much know when there are many enemies in an area so you can exit the location then come back for more exp points. But if you dont care about who played who, some repetative fights, and just want to smash, slash, use a keyblade, have intense times at the end, then this is a game for you. Overall I would say a 4.5/5

> 24 hourAnother great game from the Kingdom Hearts series. The graphics were gorgeous and controls were pretty easy to use. Only complaint is the lock on function and switching it to different enemies. Was a bit hard to work that and I would lock onto a crate/barrel over enemies sometimes. One of the better handheld KH games.

> 24 hourGreat psp game. Has good graphics, game play, and three intertwining stories as it follows the three protagonists. All stories have different and overlapping point of views, as well as unique game play to each character. And has a fascinating conclusion. Its a long game and definitely worth the price. I, myself have put over 90 hours of total game play in the past few years. And definitely has some replay value. A worthy recommendation for psp owners or kingdom hearts fans.

> 24 hourWhat more is there to say? Its Kingdom Hearts! Im unhappy that Square Enix keeps doing small projects for the series instead of working on the third game itself but this is a great prequel to the series and is filled with adorable, heart-wrenching moments Kingdom Hearts has always been known for. Worth playing so do it!

> 24 hourBeing a long-time fan of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, I was so excited to play the first and only PSP title of the series. After all, many of us have indubitably complained of the lack of game localization in much of the Japanese RPG genre, and Square Enix made the smart decision to localize this game. It is fantastic. First off, the graphics in the this game are wonderful. By utilizing more of the battery life, this games graphics can become higher quality with 32-bit that gives the appearance of a colorful 3D storybook. All the characters faces are focused, and not just a blurring blend of pixels. The cut-scene animations are beautiful and appealing to those who appreciate a dazzling game. Second, the music is very good. I have long loved the Kingdom Hearts music scores and this one does not disappoint. Aside from the classic soundtracks like Dearly Beloved, there is a hoard of new music that fits the scenery and environment very well. There is also a minigame in the story, Ice Cream Beat, that allows players to play a rhythm game with a few of the popular KH tracks from the previous games. The story is also very interesting, and having a 3-character story makes for hours of playing from each characters perspective as they travel through the worlds at different times and meet different in-game characters. As a prequel for Kingdom Hearts, players can also see young Sora, Riku, and Kairi, as well as a few of the Organization XIII members before they became Nobodies. Birth By Sleep might be confusing to some, especially in that the true ending involves a very hard boss and the ending ties straight to the ending of KHII, which leaves the resolution unclear for KHIII to resolve (KH: Dream Drop Distance mentions the protagonists of BBS somewhat). Regardless of whether the entire story of KH can be fully comprehended, the tales in this game are quite clear and will not leave any players in confusion. My final words verdict: If you have a PSP, this is one game you must have. Even if you dont have a PSP, I encourage buying one just to enjoy the delights of Birth By Sleep. Though be warned, Birth by Sleep will ensnare you, force you to forgo sleep and play for hours to try to unlock every achievement in the game, fuse and level-up moves, and beat the very challenging final bosses.

> 24 hourI bought this game after watching a gameplay trailer, to be honest I had great expectations of it. I thought the story would be deep and explain the origins of many unresolved matters of the KH I and II games. But it doesnt, it only confused me. The batte system is awesome though, also the item collection systems and the way you learn new abilities. But to be honest sidequests are limited, storylines are exteremly short and the plots are not as good as the past KH games. I saw them as a mediocre copy of the same storyline of KH I and II. I played only one storyline (out of three), after that I quite dumped my PSP system and put it back to my drawer, where it has remained for 4 months now. If you are a KH fan, go ahead and buy it: you will love it. But if you are just a gamer who liked the previous games and is wondering if this game would be good enough, DONT BUY IT. You will only regret spending the money.

> 24 hourI had a lot of fun playing this game. The graphics would be outstanding on the PS2, so getting that level of quality on the PSP is no small achievement. While each character has his or her own adventure, the deeper truths of the story are only revealed after playing through all three storylines. The minigames can be quite challenging and provide a nice break from the action. I would recommend this game to any Kingdom Hearts fan or any fan of action RPGs in general. Pick up this game, youll be glad you did.
