Greater than one weekThis seems to be quality. It certainly feels like it. Weve had one in our office for about two months now and no issues. I certainly dont mind buying more of these to spread around the office at this cost. Far less expensive than my craftsman and still does the job. Every one likes the yellow tape as well.

> 3 dayNothing but pros for this tape. Tape is stiff enough you dont always have to have a second set of hands (when you cant hook onto anything). The tape will lock in the out position which is super handy. Tape overall is durable. Only down side, dont open it out past 24 9. It will fall apart.

> 3 dayI like the auto locking feature. It took a few times using it to get used to it locking on its own when extended but its a great design.

Greater than one weekAs soon as this tape measure arrived, my husband said and I quote, “I am so jealous!” He has the standard tape measures, but none are as substantial as this nor have an awesome locking feature that the Komelon has. I needed this in my nursing job, where I have to measure distances that people are able to walk in their homes. This is easily read from a standing position when it’s on the floor and stays in its locked position. Big, hearty recommendation!

> 3 dayI admit Im an amateur at using measuring tape for longer distances, and I should not have pulled this past the redline where it says STOP. That being said, if you do this once and the tape breaks and the mechanism snaps and makes your measuring tape useless after one try, you should not be in the business of making measuring tape anymore. I remember as a child, playing with measuring tape I exceeded that red line many times with more generic products, and I dont remember it breaking until long term wear down and pulling. This felt like itll the tape was attached to a piece of used to dental floss that snapped on a slight tug. The fact that there is no break mechanism and it is so delicate, tells me this product is by definition, planned obsolete.

> 3 dayIve used a self locking tape for years and it finally wore out. This one is a good / great tape for short measurements, but when you get toward longer measurements it does not lock, and starts to retract, which is a problem since there is no way to manually lock it at that point. Otherwise, the font is readable even in low light and on the wrong side you can tell the difference between a 6, 8 or 9. Accuracy is excellent with both inside and outside exactly the same.

> 3 dayAll I can say is this company if they can get the foundation spring inside the mechanism to be made of high quality stainless that doesnt rust and break theyll have an indestructible measuring tape I love these tapes the coating and the material the physical tape its made from is entirely Superior to Craftsman FatMax Stanley products hands down

> 3 dayThis tap measure is just what I wanted. My last one, different brand , just snapped, so I thought Id have to shell out another 25 bucks for a new one. Came across this Komelon ,and it not only has the self stop feature, but also the retract button that wont smack you in the face. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, for one reason. The hard plastic packaging. There are layers upon layers of this material, and it takes forever to get it off. I needed scissors and a utility knife to get it out. And it was very dangerous, because of the sharp edges from the plastic and tools, could have very easily cut myself. I was thoroughly ticked off by the time I was done. The hardest part was getting the belt clip free, as it is swathed above it, on the sides, and below it where its screwed in place. I cant believe some moron came up with this design, and other morons approved it. There have to be dozens of easier ways to package this tape measure, like maybe a cardboard box, but they picked this one. Theres no way Ill buy another when this one bites the dust, unless they change the packaging. Id rather pay the extra money, than to go through the grief of opening this one.
