Komelon SL2816; 16 x 3/4 Self-Lock Tape Measure

This is just for home use and not on a technical level. So good enough for what we need.

Had 2 of these so far, and I keep coming back. 1st one got lost. 2nd one ripped the tape (my fault). 3rd one (current) working well. No issues with the lock feature like others. But agree, the tape does come ripping back in a hurry. Good overall.

Great size, easy to use when measuring.

It is heavy! Didnt need something this substantial just to keep in my purse.

Quality item... Nothing cheep about it.

Retracts well and feels heavy

I liked that it auto locked. But I noticed when I pulled it out to about 10 feet it was trying to suck it back in. So I had to hold with two hands so it wouldn’t cool back into itself

Have been super reliable and have had my old tapes for seven years or so and finally killed my 25 footer so got the same tape and am sure to be good for seven more years. Woodworking, mechanic, lumber cutting

I thought this was a great purchase until the lock mechanism jammed--after only a few months of occasional use. I cant recall anymore exactly how it happened, but all I know is I pulled out the metal tape to measure something fairly long, and I was unable to retract it. Possibly the weight of the tape when extended for more than a foot or so was too much for the tape to handle without warping; that would be my guess.

This definitely does the job. Much easier to lock than other tape measures. Easy to read. Easy to find and no one steals it because it doesn’t look like every other tape measurer! Haha
