I love Linksys products for the quality and support they offer. I used this SE3008 switch to replace a 5 port hub in my network, and it works GREAT. Make sure you restart any active lan devices that interact with this device when installing and you will love it.

This switch does exactly what you want it to do. The only thing I dont like about it is the network connections are in the front and power goes in the back. I wish everything went into the back with the LEDs on the front. Thats my fault for not looking at it harder before I ordered it. Other than that it works exactly the way I want it to, so 5 stars is and easy rating for me.

Just the perfect thing to update my Cisco Linksys router. I just plugged it up in place of my old E2500 unit, and it worked perfectly w/o a bunch of code-entering. This should have been possible years ago. It allows signal strengths over 100 Mbps to pass through to your connected units. No one tells us that the old routers were limited to 100 Mbps, so unless someone verbally tips you off or youre on some special program to keep you abreast of new products and how they solve old problems, youre out in the cold. This type of unit is call an unmanaged system, whereas the older Linksys I have is a magaged one (meaning, I suppose that you have enter all the code choices in the setup so that it will work properly). Until the unmanaged ones came out, weve been in the dark ages of internet connections. Your kids wont ever have this miserable history of experiences and costly visits from your IT guy(s) at home.

I purchased this unmanaged switch for my Google Nest router, since you only get a single Ethernet port with those. The switch itself is of great quality and looks nice. I love the heavier metal used in such a compact thing, that has a robust and durable feel. I was also expecting it to be larger and bulkier honestly. It is very easy to set up. Just plug the switch into your router and you’re good to go. It comes with some driver software in the box. Not really sure why you’d need to download anything to use this however. Only reason for four stars is the blue power light. It is blindingly bright in a darker room. The green networking lights above each Ethernet port are nice and subtle and easy on the eyes. Don’t know why they made this power light so bright just to let you know it’s turned on. It’s a pretty blue, but dang, if only there was a way to turn it down and it wasn’t so bright. Perhaps you can do this with the software provided? Nevertheless, I do recommend this unmanaged switch for adding more Ethernet ports to your network, especially for us Google Nest and Google WiFi users.

I bought this to connect both my TV and a streaming box directly to the router. I thought connecting it directly from the router would be the way to go but it seemed both devices suffered from delays. I ended up packing it away and connecting the cable directly to my TV. It was my first time trying to use equipment like this, so possibly misunderstood how it should work. Either way, it seemed to equally weaken the signal to both devices causing the picture to remain fuzzy for longer than expected.

Bought from Amazon. Hooked up the unit, connected a cable to each ports, all the ports, except port 2 did not light up. Called Linkys @ 1-877-855-6899, option Small/Medium Business Department. After getting preliminary information on the switch, we walked through and tested the unit over the phone. Linksys determined a replacement unit will be sent. All was handled in that one phone call. Representatives I spoke with were courteous, genuinely understood my needs and strived to resolve. Hope you will not have any issues with your unit; however, if you do, outlined above was my experience.

I’ve used these Linksys switches before in my work business and at home and they’re pretty stable and solid. Delivery was prompt and packaging was sufficient.

This switch replaced a very old but still functioning Linksys 10/100 switch that was plugged into my new gigabyte 4 port router. The slower switch was slowing down the router ports so I decided to upgrade the switch to the same speed switch. I plugged my slower devices into the switch, an Ooma telephone system and a Cisco power line adapter that feeds a wireless access point for my 3 Roku streaming video units. The SE3005 has automatic priority for streaming devices (good) but did not recognize the power line connection as streaming and slowed down all my Rokus to the same speed as my Ooma internet telephone (not good). I switched the power line adapter back to the main router and the problem went away.

I need a switch because my cable TV provider issued a new set top device that used an ethernet cable instead of coaxial. Rather than sacrifice a connection directly into my smart TV, I bought this switch. Sometimes these Amazon reviews are a curse, causing information overload = plus the crush of too many divergent opinions. But after reviewing a number of similar items I found many reviewers report that some of them are falsely described as gigabit devices when their actual labeled speed is much less. Thats why I went with Linksys. Its a well made component from a reputable manufacturer. The product is a little more expensive, but worth it in my book.
