> 3 dayManaging automatically my house network, hooked up to a fiberoptic input through a high speed modem router. Ir permits me a lot of connected devices at the same time. Excellent product. Plug and Play.

> 3 dayI got this because even though my wifi works well, its nice to have some things hardwired. When I switched to a mesh wifi, I lost all the spaces my old router had for ethernet. This solves that problem. Came as described and plugged right in.

> 3 dayI purchased this unmanaged switch for my Google Nest router, since you only get a single Ethernet port with those. The switch itself is of great quality and looks nice. I love the heavier metal used in such a compact thing, that has a robust and durable feel. I was also expecting it to be larger and bulkier honestly. It is very easy to set up. Just plug the switch into your router and you’re good to go. It comes with some driver software in the box. Not really sure why you’d need to download anything to use this however. Only reason for four stars is the blue power light. It is blindingly bright in a darker room. The green networking lights above each Ethernet port are nice and subtle and easy on the eyes. Don’t know why they made this power light so bright just to let you know it’s turned on. It’s a pretty blue, but dang, if only there was a way to turn it down and it wasn’t so bright. Perhaps you can do this with the software provided? Nevertheless, I do recommend this unmanaged switch for adding more Ethernet ports to your network, especially for us Google Nest and Google WiFi users.

Greater than one weekI am using this switch to link multiple computers to a single point-of-use Ethernet drop. This switch has been able to keep up with multiple computers running over 400MB/s speeds, sometimes up to 500MB/s - throttled by the provider, not my equipment. This was well worth the purchase price.

> 3 dayThis is a vefry basic, well desgined swith excepot for one unfortunate feature that prevented me from being able to use it in my home office IT equipment setup. The power jack is on the opposite side from the eight RJ45 ethernet jacks. Had it been on the same side I could have used it. The photo on Amazon shows only the side where the RJ45 jacks are located; it does not show the opposite side of the unit where the power jack is located. And I didnt make the correct inference when I saw it and ordered. Seems like a minor quibble but in the location where this was to have been placed, all of the cords and cables need to be out of site - i.e., on the back. I make a point of cabling (tying together) cable and cord bundles behind my IT shelf so as to hide the wiring in my office. Actually I wanted a switch where the front panel has an led for each port that indicates traffic, and all wiring connections in the rear. This one is a great buy with usual Linksys quality, but a bit too basic for me. If I could hide the entire switch that would be fine but thats not what I want nor is it practial in my IT furniture arrangement. So this one is being returned. Ill search for a fancier unit.

09-06-2025Hardwired infrastructure in vacation home. Connected to a big UPS and have a whole house lightning protector in the circuit breaker box. Security system, with video is connected to it. UPS-POE lets my remote cameras work even if the power is out. Mounted it on the wall. There is a wireless connection also, but I dont trust it, there are hundreds of wireless signals nearby. Hardwire rules both for security and throughput. Ive had these in all my residences. I run the CAT6 myself and terminate the cables. Never looked back. It works and I just dont worry about it.

> 3 dayWorks like a charm. I used it to add ports to my Linksys router. Just plugged it in and it works. Nothing much to do otherwise.

> 3 dayThe switch works great. I get my full internet speed without any issues. (This is with multiple devices connected to the switch.) I am able to do file transfers from my workstation to my Ubuntu server running a samba share at full gigabit speed with no issues. I bought this as an extension to my network since my 10 gigabit switch had all its ports filled and connected this to devices that dont need anywhere near a 10 gig link to my servers. Up time is great I havent had to reboot it since it was installed 4 months ago. While I wish it had a management console like my Cisco gear this is a home grade switch and at this price point It makes sense that its plug and play and thats it. (This means vlans and other switching features on the switch are out of the question.) Its also metal and feels pretty well built.
