I have a number of Morakniv knives. They are generally very good value and I like them a lot. The Kansbol is a bit odd because the blade has two grinds, a scandi which is good for woodworking, and a flat grind at the tip, which is good for things that the scandi is not, like slicing (e.g. for meal prep). So its really a knife that is trying to be a few things at once and maybe not being the best at any one of them. But if that is what youre looking for, then maybe this is a five star knife for you. Moving beyond the grind, this blade is 2.5mm thick, not as thick as the Bushcraft and Garberg models which are 3.2mm thick. It does have a 90 degree spine for using a fire starter. The tang is 3/4; the Garberg is the only Morakniv with a full tang. Im more comfortable having a thicker blade for bushcraft tasks. The handle is fine though I prefer the Bushcraft and Companion models. I like the sheath; I find the Morakniv plastic sheaths to be very functional; I know they bother some. This one is better than others, especially with the belt loop and the fire starter/sharpener holder. This is a better design than the one on the Bushcraft Survival model. So while this design is not my cup of tea, it may be what youre looking for.

I like this blade profile. And it is wicked sharp.

The knife comes sharp. Not as sharp as you can get it with a bit of work on a whetstone, but good enough to cut paper without much resistance. The MOLLE attachment process could be better, and I do worry that it will come detached easier than Id like, but it hasnt been a problem so far.

I have this exact knife in green and it has been a go to for years for hunting, camping, and general outdoors use. The scandi grind is easy to get a RAZOR edge and will handle pretty heavy baton work - just ask one of my friends that I showed how to baton off a 4 inch limb from his tree stand location when he forgot his saw. The sheath is very durable and is held securely by the belt loop. This works nice when you want to have the loop set up on a belt, but dont want it poking in your side when riding in a vehicle. The knife and sheath comes out of the loop easily, and just as easily locks back into place. The ferro rod works well with the 90 degree spine and sends of plenty of sparks to start a campfire. All in all a great outdoor package that comes in ORANGE to make it easy to spot when you have to set your knife down and not put it back into the sheath.

I love mora knives. This is a very good knife but there are others that are better. The finish on this is less perfect than others.

I wanted something in a Mora that could be just as at home in the kitchen drawer in the sheath dry and clean as out in the field. The Kansbol fits the bill like a glove. It came RAZOR sharp. The thinner point allows for precision cuts , working with meat or vegetables, plenty strong enough for light batoning making kindling and shavings. Easy to sharpen on a flat ceramic stone or hone with a DMT rat tail fine red diamond rod by eye, or round ceramic rod. Stays in the sheath, its not just going to fall out on you. Any negative would fall to the color, IMHO it needs to be a brighter safety orange in case of loss for field work, but I have paracord, no deal breaker there. Finish was a tad rough but hey its a Mora. I mean you are going to hone it, clean it , polish it if need be with something right? Semichrome, Flitz, RENWAX...wash it, dry it, food grade mineral oil, wipe down and store. I like it better than the Companions (I know right? Blasphemy) Great tool for the price. Theres a red one out now, when it hits Amazon I may pick it up too!

You really must be joking. Mora knows better than this--Im sure of it; and why they put out a superb knife with this whole cockamaime holster which flops around all topsy-turvy when ya walk... I have absolutely know clue. The knife is first rate, and well-made. The holster and its obnoxious and annoying leather strap on the other hand... utterly ruins the whole entire experience, for me. Because it is really just that terrible. The entire plastic sheath--knife and all flops out onto the floor when I walk, and it twirls around out of control. Pathetic engineering of the holster, and stupid!!

This knife can do most of it but not all. Fishing, hiking, camping, food preparation but not wood splitting. Maybe very small pieces for tinder but that’s it. The reason I bought this one is because I broke my old one. I was splitting a piece of oak. It’s unique blade serves a multitude of purposes from gutting/ filleting fish to getting a fire started to cook them. Around my camp it and an Esee 6 are the most used knives I use
