> 3 dayI recently bought this lens at a local camera store, for around $200.00 and I absolutely love it! It produces an immensely sharp image with my D5100, So sharp in fact that last night I put it outside on a tripod and set the ISO at 100 and left my shutter open for 10 seconds, aiming into the nights sky, and the camera picked up all of these stars and galaxies and stuff! It was just amazing, Definitely worth the price!

> 3 dayThis lens offers excellent optical quality and anyone with a Nikon DX DSLR should own one. It is very well made and features a metal mount. The body is textured plastic on the outside. Not sure what is on the inside, but the lens has a quality feel. The lens hood snaps on securely and there is a plastic filter thread for 52mm filters. A soft pouch is also provided. It is ideal for anyone who perhaps owns the likes of the Nikon D7000 or D7100 and is tired of carrying around the supplied 18-105mm zoom lens - this one is a lot smaller and lighter. Ideally suited for multiple applications, I highly recommend this lens. The lens is compact, and I found my hands had little to grab onto. The supplied lens hood is a good solution for people with average or small hands, as it gives a place to put you little finger. For men with larger hands, you will possibly find your little finger has nowhere to rest.

> 3 dayI was using the stock lens (18-105 i believe) that came with my Nikon D90 and thought the pictures were great until i got this lens. It was recommended to me and the pictures are very sharp. I would definitely recommend to anyone with a Nikon camera.

> 3 dayI have an 18-55mm lens on my D7100 which takes very good images. However I needed a fast lens for low light situations, portraits, and landscapes - this I decided was the one - especially at Amazon prices and also cashback from Nikon. All in, I got this lens for £125 - not bad !

> 3 dayI bought this lens because I wanted on with a large enough aperture to make indoor photographs without using a flash or too high an ISO sensitivity. I use this on my Nikon D3100. I have been using it for only several weeks, and so far it has met my expectations. I may raise my rating to 5 stars after I master its focusing characteristics.

> 3 dayIve recently got into live music photography, and this lens has been vital in creating some stunning images. I decided to test it out at a local gig in a pub - where lighting isnt brilliant as it is, and it worked a treat. Not only this, but it was an absolute beast of a lens outside in the light too. This didnt make a large difference to portraits and promos outside, however, it did make a reasonable one that made the images taken much better compared to if I didnt have the lens. Brilliant purchase, definitely worth the price tag. Ideal for both amateurs and professionals.
