> 3 dayIch fotografiere sehr gerne, habe aber bisher mit HDR noch nichts zu tun gehabt. Gestern war dann die Photomatix Pro 6 Software im Briefkasten und ich habe sie gleich ausprobiert. Die Bedienung ist wirklich kinderleicht - vor allem, wenn man schon Lightroom auf dem Notebook hat, denn von Lightroom kann man die Belichtungsreihen gleich direkt ins Photomatix exportieren.

> 3 dayMakes photos POP. Very simple (yet lots of power). Free effortless and seamless upgrade to Photomatix Pro5. People think I have a $1,000 camera when I only have a point & shoot cheapo digital camera. The only downside (if you can call it a downside) is that the GUI is not glitzy, just very basic, but that makes the photos look even better.

> 3 dayHaving used Photoshop to process HDR images which I found quite a lengthy process and now Photomatix is installed the time taken to process the same images is less than half and a better result, well worth the cost.

> 3 dayI shoot real estate and typically do a flambient technique. However depending on the situation I sometimes shoot HDR. When I do, I have typically used basic lightroom and photoshop merging and have been fairly satisfied with the results (especially when I take the HDR and then layer mask the windows). I downloaded this and tried it today because I was bored. The images this thing produced were horrendous no matter what preset I chose. I tried three, five, and nine bracketed photos. They were underexposed and it destroyed the white balance. The software is very limited on what you can do with the image too. I cannot recommend this software for the price. Maybe if it was $10.

> 3 dayI have been a Photomatix Pro 4 user since 2011. It is great HDR software, but the Pro 5 version is significantly improved. The ghosting removal option is worth the upgrade price, but if you already have the Pro 4 version the upgrade is available for free. HDRsoft customer service is outstanding. After helping me establish proof of purchase for version 4, I was provided with a link that allowed me to upload version 5. I learned about the product upgrade at a Rocky Mountain School of Photography. The instructor

> 3 dayA very straightforward program with a lot of options for tone mapping HDR photos. You can use the license in Photomatix Pro 4 to download the upgrade Pro 5 from the HDRsoft website. You still will likely need a futher program like Photoshop to fine tune your pics, but this program is really easy to use and get great results right off the bat.

> 3 dayThis is a great way to punch up otherwise ordinary photos. The best part about this software is that it can be stand-alone - it is not soley a plug-in for a very much more expensive suite that you must have to make it work (although it can function that way as wwell, if you want). So its very flexible. And, although it does its best work when you import multiple bracketed exposures w/RAW files, it will do some amazing effects on single exposures such as already existing JPEGs. Not every shot is improved by its use - best candidates are, for example, photos with much texture in them (wood grain, leaves & grass, clouds, etc). Photomatix can give a lot of old stuff (including people) even more character. Plus, each time you apply tone mapping to a shot it gives you 6 to 9 different treatments to choose from that is most effective for that particular shot, and it is also completely adjustable - there are many parameters (on sliders) such as luminosity, contrast, color saturation, etc - a tweakers heavenly playground (and settings can be saved in a file too, which can then be applied to future individual shots, or even batch-processed). I find Im already beginning to see the world through HDR lenses (THAT would be a good HDR shot!). HDR video is next!
