Bought this for my mom as a gift. She was happy with the layout along with how quickly she was able to edit photos.

Program would not load automatically as indicated in the instructions per Read Me File. Still working to verify that all info needed was loaded. Instructions in Read ME file is very limited and omits needed directions. Information enclosed omitted two pages that are needed. No customer service number to call for info. My experience is POOR.

As Photomatix Pro is the best-known program for creating High Dynamic Range images (HRDI), Ive looked forward to using it for some time. Delivery of the software was quick and the product well-wrapped. Software is much easier to use than other HDRI programs. Thanks

The book was very helpful. Im just getting strated in HDR and the Photomatix seemed very confusing. The book was easy to use and will lead you through the process. I keep it by my work station and refer to it frequntly.

    Greater than one week

I have been experimenting with HDR photography using Photoshop Elements 8 for a while now and have had very good results. Although I have to pin-register the images and blend them by hand, which is time consuming, overall the results are consistently well worth it. When I researched Photomatix Pro, I thought that the tone mapping feature would reduce my editing time and give me more uniform results. However, I ended up returning it to Amazon. I noticed that when I merged multiple exposures using Photomatix, it had a tendency to produce some very odd artifacts in the final image. I did not notice this problem until I zoomed in to see how it handled ghosting and image alignment. I discovered areas where there were patches of odd colored, usually dark or black colored pixels, that were completely unlike anything in that part of the image. In some instances, this was even more apparent in areas of lower and higher contrast. In one image, I noticed a rock in the foreground in which the lower portion was literally missing about half of its pixels. Photomatix had inserted these dark colored pixels in and around the area on the rock where the image data was simply gone. I think that if you use Photomatix to create HDR images for the Internet or for small prints, its usable I suppose, but if you like to print 8x12 or larger sized images, be advised that this product creates enough artifacts in the final composite image that I cannot recommend it.

After reading other reviews and being a novice photographer I decided to give this a go, I am not disappointed. It is quite refreshing to actually get an instruction manual which is clear and easy to use, even I am getting some very pleasing results. Overall a brilliant product.

Having used Photoshop to process HDR images which I found quite a lengthy process and now Photomatix is installed the time taken to process the same images is less than half and a better result, well worth the cost.

I was happy with my purchase of this software. This software seems to be the leader when it comes to getting a Tone Mapped image started and then later post processed in Photoshop. Yes it provides a nice deghosting option of an HDR image before its final stage of Tone Mapping. Mark Ward
