PlayStation Vita Memory Card 64GB (PCH-Z641J)

Sony has always had a love affair with its own proprietary storage. So it wasnt a surprise to anyone that their new PS Vita would require more of their proprietary cards. (I honestly believe that they make more off these cards than they do the actual games) I originally purchased an 8 GB card with my Vita, and that soon got filled up thanks to PSNs instant game collection. I went ahead and purchased the 64 GB card and Im happy to say that it works great on the Vita... The only reason that I didnt give it five stars is obviously for the price... $100... its half the price of the Vita itself.

Registered at 61gb in system info ,57gb in content manager. Downloaded 15 games on there so far excellent storage i read many reviews leading to this purchase, research lead me to the series ending in j not g many quality issues were stated as well as memory loss/ less than purchased. Happy so far read a couple reviews about memory cards breaking; as i will not be removing this at all once i receive my new vita i will see how it lasts in the long haul my 16gb card has lasted me a year+ with no issues other than being small but you get what you pay for. I would reccomend a bigger card at first it will save you in the long run please believe me as the PS store has many great sales throughout the year with almost a new sale weekly and with ps+ you get 2 free games a month with some odd balls and others being a steal for free!!!! If you miss something in a sale it will be back with patience. Please help bring back this amazing forgotten gem of a console!!!!

This memory card was an upgrade for me from a 32GB card. It has had no issues so Im pleased with it so far. The extra space is such a relief, due to all those wonderful PlayStation Plus games offered in the past year or 2. Interesting note: If you use Content Manager on PC, you might want to uninstall/reinstall it so that it doesnt get that error where it says you have 2 PS Vita systems being used at the same time. It seems to register a new memory card as another PS Vita system. That was the only slight problem I had, but it was fixable by reinstalling the program and updating the library for it.

Although in this day and age, where industry standard should have carried over to a game console like the PS Vita, sadly enough, Sony claims that this is supposed to stop Copyright Infringement. No, its just another way for Sony to charge a much greater price on a card that is strictly proprietary to their PS Vita system, instead of making complete sense like they did for the PS3 and allow an industry standard memory card to fit. Either way, bottom line is, if you want to play more games via download, you need more memory. If not, then buy the PS Vita games on their cards and use the extra memory for save game features.

Unfortunate as it is that Sony opted for proprietary memory cards on the PS Vita, this memory card has served me well and holds dozens of PS Vita / PS1 games. This is considerably a better option than a MicroSD adaptor if you have physical Vita games, as the adaptors plug in to where physical games go.

I really like this product. Nothing special just your typical sd card. It has 60gb free data which I used immediately to hold all of my games XD. My favorite part of my purchase was the little thank you card that came with the package. It put a massive grin on my face ^-^.

This is the the biggest available memory card on the market. Yes, its expensive. Yes, its proprietary. Yes, its not available in the USA yet. If you really must have a PS Vita memory card, and plan to download games, whether they be PS1 classics or full PS Vita games, this is the card for you. It is currently compatible with both the North American PS Vita and PS Vita Slim. Copying information from your old memory card to this one is as easy as plugging your PS Vita with the old memory card into your PC and selecting memory management in the PS Vita options. Create a backup, then plug the new memory card in, restore the backup to the new memory card. No hassle. This same process can be completed using your PS3 or PS4 as well.

A little pricey, but this is the best option for your PS Vita, especially if youre looking to do a lot of digital downloads from the PSN store. It will be able to store most of your gaming and media needs with some room to spare. Previously I had purchased an 8 gb card when I bought the Vita, but that quickly filled up, so I was looking for something with a little bit more memory and this was the biggest option they had. I transported all of my files and savegames from my other memory card via Sonys own memory transfer program that works on both Mac and PC, and now I dont have to worry about using up all my space. Like I said, the price is a little on the high side for a memory card, and Sony sucks you in with their specific Vita memory cards, but if you use your Vita a lot, this one is a no-brainer.

The price was a little annoying. Setting that aside, being the only way of expanding the PS Vitas storage, it was necessary. Im probably using less than 10% now. But, Im happier that I have that extra 90% to play with than having to worry about, What do I delete? later. The other day, I just bought 6 flash drives of the same capacity at the same price as this one card. But Im okay with that because I only have to buy this card one time.

Im going to start my review off by being very frank: If you are an avid PS Vita gamer, dont cheap out and just get this card. No, the memory card is not region locked and is usable on any PS Vita, so no excuses. When youre sitting on the 1GB of internal stock memory that came with the Vita, the amount of decent games you can play within that memory budget becomes little to none. Its worth it in the long run. Yes, its expensive. I could go on and on about how I and everyone else hate Sonys model of proprietary memory on the Vita, but Im going to refrain from doing that and try to keep my review focused on the actual card itself Now that I finally have my memory card, I was able to shake the dust off my Vita that I never played because again, only had 1GB of memory to work with. Ive since began downloading some of the free PS+ games I accumulated for the Vita over the last few years of being a PS+ member as well as some other digital titles that I actually paid for. Lastly, dont worry about any data you already have on your internal memory card. After youve inserted your new memory card and powered on your Vita, it will prompt you to transfer your data from the internal storage to your new 64GB storage without you needing to do anything. I included an image in my review showing you the data transfer in progress. I can now play my JRPGs in peace. Shouldnt have to worry about memory for a while now.
