> 3 dayI thought the first one I got was just a bad unit, but then I found out that Samsung has their own proprietary formatting software— and theres no Mac version. These SSDs my be fine for storage, but they wont host an OS. (To be fair, it might also be fine in a newer Mac.)

10-06-2025So I’ve been rockin a 10 year old laptop since new. Replaced all kinds of stuff in it, tons of ram, great cpu, etc. but it had a hard time running smooth with disk usage at 100% on the main OS drive with only 30Gigs. Replaced it with this and cloned the drive and man it boots fast, runs smoother than ever, and like a brand new machine! 10 stars

> 3 dayEasily cloned the HDD to the SSD using their software. The existing hard disk had lower storage capacity than the new SSD. However their software gave options on what needs to be done with the extra space. Installation was also easy. No screws came with SSD. However the existing screws that held the HDD worked.
