The software is a bait and switch.

It stopped working in 2 months and I used it around 5-6 times...

I got this to allow me to transport video from my various devices and locations. The upload and download speeds are fantastic and the time saved versus using a standard portable hard drive is significant. Its compact and easy to carry in your pocket and because its a SSD you dont have to worry about shaking it like you do a standard hard drive.

Similar to the 550mb/s drive. This one is faster but not by a huge amount. The main difference is that with transfers over 70gig or continuous use - like with an Xbox etc. it has a better heat dispersion. So there is no speed throttle after longer use. It maintains speed throughout the transfer and doesn’t drop once it warms up. For that reason alone I recommend spending. With regular chronosync sessions it won’t take more than 3 minutes for a full 75 gig session. Epic.

Its not recognized by any computer I own, cant access my files any longer and cant recover with any 3rd party software. Pretty much a $250 paper weight. This thing never left my office either, so much for EXTREME.

When paired with a Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C (3.1) port, this drive shines. IF YOU ARE A MAC USER—be sure to format the drive using Disk Utility before you use the drive. Otherwise, youll have issues mounting the drive on your desktop. Youll get much more for your money this way instead of buying a Lacie or G drive.

The only way for me to get near the advertised speed 1050MB/s is by connecting it to a thunderbolt port on my laptop using usb-c/usb-c cable
