Sigma 30mm F1.4 Contemporary DC DN Lens for Sony E

I would not recommend this lens over the 14-42 II kit zoom from Olympus. The sharpness is lackluster and a little worse than the kit zoom, flare is a problem and CAs are prominent. It isnt really much of a bargain when you consider its only 1 stop faster than the kit lens.

This is my second most used lens behind the Sony 50mm f/1.8. This lens is great for grabbing that quick photo while youre wandering around. For this purpose, its great.

To make it short, this lens is exactly what any budget photographer should look for: affordable, functional, and (somewhat) compact. Shots are sharp, retain true-to-life colors, and with an f/1.4 light shots turn out beautifully. My only complaint is auto-focus during night or darker shots, its a drag and filming shots in darker settings as well doesnt match up to Sony lenses. But overall, I cant complain as this lense is perfect for practically everyday use.

I will keep this short and simple. This lens is sharp wide open and it takes awesome pics with decent Bokeh and the colors are nice . I wish it was a 1.8 or 1.4 or even a f2 but I got this on sale for 100.00. This lens is better than most Sony lenses costing 3x or even more. This lens is a Bang for your buck lens. You normally dont find a deal like this without the lens being old as dirt and having to use manual focus plus needing to buy an adapter. The build quality is actually not bad and for 5 bucks on ebay I got a really cool looking vented hood because this does not come with one but does come with an awesome little padded pouch. If you own a nex and cant afford the 24cz then this is the closest and the next best thing until I do get the 24mm cz. This lens makes me wonder how much these expensive so called pro lenses actually cost to make. I always tell people photography gear is way overpriced in most cases for what you get. Sell your sony kit lens and get this or the 19mm version or get both for the price.
