For a piece of cheap plastic it seriously works, you cannot slide the door open at all. It locks I. Place by squeezing the two rubber pieces on top and bottom. We put it all the way up so that our children cannot reach it. They also cannot squeeze the pieces to release the lock, so it’s a win win for us.
