> 3 dayI live in a micro apartment so storage is a huge issue for me. since i usually kept all my yarn rolled up in balls i had to cram each one into a small storage box and slam the door usually resulting in about 50 little balls rolling all over the floor the next time i opened it to get one out. I love the fact that i was able to attach the ball winder to my tv tray and sit on my couch and roll these cute little yarn cakes that easily pull from the center and most importantly i can wind a whole 7 oz skein of yarn and still have room to add the half skein i had left over for one large cake. construction of the winder looks strong and sturdy with the metal frame and its quiet with the vinyl gears.

Greater than one weekIm very pleased with this winder, wish I had bought it sooner. It was easy to set up and use, I had it running and my first skein done within 30 minutes. Runs smoothly and the plastic gears run fairly quietly. The frame is sturdy metal. I have nothing negative to say about this winder.

> 3 dayThe unit feels more substantial that the winder it replaced. The rotating parts move very smoothly and the gears have no roughness. Very happy with the purchase.

> 3 dayThis yarn winder works great! It is so much better than my previous two (plastic) yarn winders. I can wind yarn so fast and it still doesnt slip off the winder; even really soft yarn.

> 3 dayVery happy with this winder. Makes the job of winding center-pull balls of yarn a no-brainer. Easy assembly. Got this larger model just in case Id ever need to wind larger skeins of yarn yet this handles small leftover amounts of sock yarn very well. Took the advice of some other reviewers and made a small knot in the very beginning of the yarn to hold it securely in the slot; no problem with losing the end.

Greater than one weekIt would be even better if I could easily wind a full standard skein of yarn. Maybe a wider base or taller shaft to accommodate various weights of yarn

> 3 dayBe careful to watch your feeding of the yarn and you will be fine with any type of yarn. The directions were a little tricky to assemble but the pictures do help.

> 3 dayI splurged on this heavy-duty ball winder after trying out the cheaper plastic winders which started getting noisier and showing ware only after winding 10 or so balls Ive use this for more than 60 balls of yarn now and it still works just as new
