> 24 hourSturdy umbrella, opened it is quite large but folded it is only slightly longer than a compact umbrella. Love that it is auto-close; makes getting in the car much easier. I had a Totes compact umbrella for more than 10 years and it never let me down. Recently left it in a car that I traded in so replaced it with this one. Very satisfied!

> 24 hourI purchase this umbrella about a year and a half ago, and after using it in a torrential downpour last night, felt compelled to write a review for this fantastic item. In the eighteen months I have owned this umbrella, it has kept me dry in countless rainstorms in New York, including ones with significant wind gusts (such as those found in the wind tunnels that form between the citys skyscrapers). Not once has the canopy or the aluminum supports failed, even as Ive watched those around me ditch their crumpled, destroyed umbrellas in sidewalk trash cans. This is especially amazing given how big this umbrella is, canopy-wise. It really is golf-umbrella sized, and as a 63 person, it keeps me fully dry from the knees up in raining sideways storms, and fully dry in vertical rainstorms. Despite its impressive reach, it still folds down to a very compact size - bit slimmer than the 17oz Swell bottle I keep in the other side pocked of my backpack. The included sleeve is also very nice for storing the umbrella, wet or not. And finally, Ill mention the opening and closing mechanism. It is so great to be able to pop it open with one click, and not have to worry about fighting a slider to push up the canopy. Moreover, as youre approaching your destination, it is quite easy to click the button again just as you open the door, and have the canopy collapse down. No more fighting to close an umbrella outside, resulting in you being as wet as you would have been had you not had an umbrella at all, just before getting to you destination. A quick click of the Totes, and you can walk in easily, staying dry throughout.

> 24 hourI like this umbrella - it is a golf-sized umbrella, but retracts to a size that is small enough to carry in a briefcase / backpack. I am hard on umbrellas, though and I worry that Totes got this combination by using as thin a gauge of metal for the spokes and handle as possible - it feels flimsier than other Totes umbrellas Ive purchased. (I think Totes is one of those companies that will warrant their products with a lifetime guarantee - Ive had the opportunity to avail myself of this with Totes, but I only feel comfortable with one replacement per one item purchased; you cant expect too much from an umbrella, after all.

> 24 hourHave been buying totes umbrellas for many many years. Needed a couple of extra large ones so got two of these. I find the handle material on these to be much more slippery than every other kind of Totes umbrella I currently or have ever previously owned. Its somewhat annoying. I might try to coat the handle with a layer of glue or maybe wrap some paracord around it or something like that. Edit: I am reducing a star. The handle material is just too slippery. As I stated above, it has less grip than my dozen or so prior Totes umbrellas. It is not possible to wrap the handle with paracord - it is too slippery a handle and the taper prevents a good paracord wrap. Similarly, it is not possible to wrap with hockey tape. A thin layer of gorilla glue helps. But the bottom line is that sadly I will need to find a new brand of umbrella to buy.

> 24 hourThis umbrella is great, I am a tall guy and small umbrellas just dont cut it for me but this is large enough to comfortably fit myself and another without getting wet. The construction on this is also great and it comes with a lifetime warranty against defects. I used it in moderate winds and it didnt budge. Another great thing is how compact it gets, about 14 inches long which sounds long but for a canopy this large its great. The button to collapse the umbrella is slightly recessed so it isnt much of a worry that you will hit it when you are holding it. Also for the first time ever an umbrella I have folds back to the size it was when I got it, the thing actually fits back into the nice nylon carrying pouch that came with it. This nylon pouch is nice for when you go in somewhere and need to put away the umbrella, it seems to be waterproof as well and doesnt really leak water.

> 24 hourYou are probably looking at this review and thinking what is this guy saying in the title protects me from rain? Of course it does its an umbrella! Well let me explain. Any Umbrella Ive ever bought from my local Walmart has never lasted more than a day. Seriously? We live in 2020 learn how to make a damn umbrella. So last week before I had this Totes Umbrella I was left with a broken one so I had to walk into work fully soaked and unprotected from the rain. Therefore I had to specifically mention that Totes lives up to their name and this umbrella definitely does its job and protects me from rain.

> 24 hourThis umbrella is very nice. Its larger than most of the folding umbrellas but fits nicely in my backpack. I gave it only four stars for two reasons. One, its not really golf size. Two, the metal framework could be a little sturdier, but none of the folding umbrellas are any better. Dont let these two comments deter you from getting one of these. If you like to carry a folding umbrella, this one is a good choice. Yes, I would buy it again.

> 24 hourI needed a compact collapsible umbrella that I could toss on the side of my backpack; golf umbrellas are cumbersome to carry. This is one of the few large collapsible umbrellas, and while the build quality is very good, there are a few flaws. 1. The main problem is that its not vented, and for an umbrella this big, it means that it gets blown around in the wind a lot. The umbrella can catch even mild gusts of wind and drag you a bit. This kind of makes you feel like youre carrying a big sail, even when theres mild wind. During gusts, I can only point this thing toward the direction of the wind and hope for the best. 2. Due to wind, one of the supports on the umbrella broke during use (thanks Amazon for the prompt attention to this). 3. Warranty. There is a great lifetime warranty, but it costs $5, plus your cost of shipping, and a wait of 2–6 weeks, to get a replacement item. Not worth it, Id say, unless if you have another umbrella to hold you over for 2–6 weeks. Im on the lookout for another one, but this thing works well enough that its the best option out there for a large collapsible umbrella.

> 24 hourThis umbrella should go for half its price. Its a cheaply made umbrella that Im guessing will not last more than a few months. Every part of this umbrella shakes and jiggles right out of the box. Theres definitely better out there.

> 24 hourThis umbrella is great - Ive orders about 4 of these over the years and they last a long time and are wind resistant!
