Canon MP480 All-in-One Photo Printer

The printer does as advertised. I mostly use it to print papers for school. I try my best not to print anything else because the cost of the ink is crazy. The only reason I did not give this printer 5 stars is because it uses ink pretty fast. I got this printer May 2009 and I have not had any issues. I use the printer, copier and scanner. They all work well and it is easy to use. Its pretty self explanatory. I hooked it up with a random usb cord I had on hand. The printer does not come with a cord so if you decide to get the printer, then remember to buy a cord to attach it to your computer. ************************************************** I am updating my review Jan 23 2015. I have had this printer for about 6 years and I am still in school. Now full time instead of part time. I have been using it mostly for scanning documents for class more than printing in the past 2 years. I only find myself printing items to return rental textbooks, or return faulty merchandise, also to print coupons once in awhile. However, if your print head is not recognized then you cannot do anything not even scan with the printer. My copier worked fine with the canon ink and then it started giving an error saying B200 printer error see manual. There is nothing in the manual but I went on Google and none of the resolutions worked for me. The last resolution was to unplug the printer for 24 hours, I did that and now there is an error saying U051 print head is not installed, install print head. The same print heads are in the printer. I opened new ink and put it in the printer and it still did not work. That is $40 worth of new ink that will be thrown in the trash. I am getting an HP printer. I am finished with Canon because this is the second printer that stopped working for weird reasons. I gave the printer 2 stars for lasting 6 years. Also to get the a new print cartridge that cost $125. In other words, I will use that money for a printer instead. I going with HP because the cost of ink is half the price. absolute piece of sh*t. paper constantly jammed, shredded or pulled in sideways. now it wont print at all. error message says paper is jammed but there is no paper or any other foreign matter inside it. complete waste of money.

I owned Lexmark Pinter about 4 of them and 3 HP. I like this one the best, even it was less expensive than my other printer. Reason: I never had a printer in which the Ink lasted 3X as long as Lexmark, the other printer nickel and dimes you to dead over the ink to expensive and does not last. Cannon ist excellent

The Canon PIXMA MP 480 printer/scanner is all that I expected and more. It copies beautifully. And for such a good price. I like it. Bob

Do a search for error codes Pixma on the net. Youll find out. I know for a fact that some can be fixed through the internal computer on the printers but Canon hides the fact to squeeze you.

I had an HP all-in-one for a few years (2nd one). Always had issues with printing, responding from computer, quality, etc. Decided to give the Canon a try.Best money Ive ever spent on a printer. Easy to use, quick setup, print quality is great. Very user friendly. Great if you have school age kids.

initially, I though the product came without a power cord and also the USB cord, I was wrong and found both of them tucked inside with the printer ink. The USB cord was a y cord and I plugged them both in. Set up was easy and automatic. I have an HP 8.1 computer and there was no problem in set up which was for Vista. If you do not have a internal rom drive, an external drive is needed to use the set up disk. Print went well immediately. Time will tell how long the printer will work and how well. My old cannon printer lasted many years and I am hoping this one will too. Just like my old printer this one makes noises too, but I do not care it does not bother me, but it might be annoying to some. The instruction manual was clear and detailed. I read some reviewers got duds, and that is terrible, and might be due to a lack of quality control.

I just had it for like 1 month and likes it a lot. Its easy to set up and use. I scan important document often and the scan quality is good. As for printing, the quality is good for a non-laser printer. Cons: 1. May be not very ink-efficent. I just used it for like a month and the user interface on the machine told me theres only half left for my black ink. 2. Doesnt come with a usb cable. I dont know if this is true for all printers in US. In my home country I bought a printer and it comes with usb cable by default.

Canons PIXMA MP480 all-in-one printer has a very nice presence. It is very sleek with many preference options; it is very user-friendly and easy to install. You must buy a USB cable; it does not come with the printer. Pros: The scanner and copier are good quality and have many options for professional images. The printer comes with useful software and free paper samples. The print quality is good (you must set the printer options correctly and use the right paper). The printer is very quick to respond and prints full coverage pages quickly. Cons: Ink: It will cost at least $40 to replace the ink for both the color and the black cartridges. (The ink lasts an average number of prints as compared to competitive printers.) There are only two cartridges, black and color, instead of the color-efficient 3 CMY cartridges. Durability: The printer is reasonably priced, but do not expect a heavy-duty printer at this cost. You will get what you are paying for. The shell of the printer is flimsy. It is made out of plastic. Overall, you will be pleased with this purchase and will be impressed with the quality of this deal!

I owned the canon mp240 and it broke but I had a ton of ink left so I decided to get the 480. Ive only used it a handful of times but it works great. I thought for the price, you cant beat it.
