Continental GatorSkin DuraSkin Tire

Been using gatorskin tires for years. great flat resistance and long mileage.

I have put roughly 200 miles on these and I have to say that these are some good freaking tires! I live in NYC and there is a bunch of litter everywhere. I have gotten 1 flat but it was from a pinch flat after hitting a nasty pothole, but even then I don’t think any other tyre would have withheld. Overall amazing commuting and training tyre :)

Bead separation from sidewall. i did not expect, that too within very few months.

These tires are amazing! I went from about a flat tire per week, to no flats since I installed them four months ago! Im riding on city streets and the occasional canal trail. Ive hit broken glass, potholes, cracks, thorns--these things are nearly indestructible. If you are tired of flat tires, invest in GatorSkins! They are slightly heavier, but unless youre a pro, you wont notice a few ounces.

These wheel will last you at least 2000miles for commuting.

This tire was recommended by a friend who does a lot of long distance cycling. Far more than me so while I havent gotten much distance on them Ill speak to the installation. These are the first folding tires Ive used, the priors ones have been steel bead. So it was a tad more time to bend the tire into the right shape but nothing major. It went on easily and once the tube was inflated it was as rigid as normal tires. I got 700x25 tires for a 14mm wheel and it fit fine. This is probably the largest I could fit on my wheel. The rotation direction arrow is rather faint to see as it is part of the mold and not painted. But if you look at the pattern of the tread it sort of looks like an arrow and that matches.

Had two flats in about 4 rides with this tire. First time I thought it was my poor installation skills (probably a fold in the tube or something). So I had my expertly trained husband do it the second time. Flat #2. Still not investigated why. Aggro.

The tires arrived on time, quickly, and in condition. They are performing well.
