> 24 hourI’d read on the Internet that I could sprinkle this indoors and then simply vacuum it up. That wasn’t true. I sprinkled it in a room that wasn’t well ventilated, and it caused a lot of harm to my breathing, red irritated eyes, and other health problems. I tried clearing it out with air purifiers that had HEPA filters, plus 3 different kinds of vacuums that all had HEPA filters, including an industrial HEPA vac and a ship vac. The particles from the diatomaceous earth were so small that a lot of them passed through the HEPA filters. I got the carpet steam cleaned three times and I also hired a disaster cleaning company to use industrial air scrubbers. I finally had to remove the carpeting in the room. Use with caution, especially in rooms that aren’t well ventilated!

> 24 hourThis product effectively eliminated ants that had invaded my house. The key is to apply this LIGHTLY. An applicator is included to gently puff this powder where you need it. It should look like a fine smoke coming out. After a few days the ants were gone. Because it is food grade I’m not worried about poisoning pets or family members.

> 24 hourEvery once in a while, the duster would emit a clot of powder before sending out a fog of powder. And yes, I do mean fog. A couple of puffs from the duster left a cloud over my carpet that took 15 minutes to settle. You couldnt even see it on the carpeting, but it really cut down the bugs. After a day the dog went from scratching constantly to only doing it once or twice a day. I bet if I turned the duster right side up and tapped the cover a few times to clear the nozzle I could stop the clot I mentioned. You actually turn the duster upside down to spray the powder.

> 24 hourI moved out of a roach infested apartment, and my house doesnt have roaches, so clearly it works. Beware that this stuff builds up a strong smell in storage. Opening up all my boxes after the move sure was...an experience...

> 24 hourWe had a terrible ant problem in the house. I didnt want any pesticide chemicals. So I put this down right before we went on a month long trip. Came back and saw lots of ant tracks thru the powder. Vacuumed it all back up with a shop vac when we returned and have not had a problem since. So thrilled!! Thank you!!

> 24 hourOk like... Im really not sure how many stars to give this product. Let me explain why. This stuff gets literally everywhere. You know how cornstarch is? Like you just kind of touch it and it sticks to your fingers in this weird chalky layer? Yeah, its like that... except, this stuff aerosolizes easily, meaning that if you even just blow on it the tiniest bit or theres even the smallest gust of wind or even you just move your darn hand, it goes into the air in tiny particles. And those tiny particles.. are horrendous for your lungs. It can lead to all sorts of lung complications. So, just use it inside, right? Yes. Except.. no vacuuming. It will clog your filter and every vacuum Ive ever owned had an exhaust port, meaning that it would just... blow it all into the air if I tried to use it. And then Id breathe in the silicon, sooo thats not good. But whats the big deal, right? Its just silicon. well it turns out that the way Diatomaceous Earth works is that when little critters with exoskeletons walk over it, it cuts them up microscopically. They eventually die! Yay. Except... it also cuts up our lungs. Therefore, when you use this SAFELY, theres nothing wrong with it. Dont breathe it in (and for the love of God dont snort it). However, because of all the safety issues with aerosolizing it, I wont touch the stuff. Even just open the bag creates powder that floats up into the air! Its ridiculous. but the thing is, thats just how it is - any brand of diatomaceous earth will be the same way. So thats why I still give it 4 stars. It also does seem to work to kill ants. Its just that it... gets.. EVERYWHERE. I wish they didnt put the (rather giant) powder applicator IN the bag. Gosh, its so hard to get it off of anywhere... ALSO when you apply it JUST APPLY A TINY MIST. Dont try to drown them like youre adding flour to a cake. It should be a fine mist that you can barely see. If you can see the powder its too much according to the internet. Its just... so hard to apply! If you have to clean it, I recommend wetting the powder that you applied and then wiping it up. I can still see some powder in my carpet near the baseboards and Im scared to clean it because I dont want to breathe it in. :)

> 24 hourTo be honest I am not all together sure what its actual use is, I just know I read it could get rid of fleas. It does do that temporarily. Should you be using it for that DO NOT use the spryer that comes with it. I did and it got everywhere, I literally had to clean it off of everything in my room. The better albeit harder way to do it is to find something to put it in and sprinkle it. When my sister used it she used a mason jar and poked holes on the lid. If you have a tiny flea problem this will solve it for a month or so, if you have a big flea problem you’re looking at it lasting a week at best. Again, I don’t know what it’s actually used for, so this review is based on what I used it for.

> 24 hourThis stuff works! I live in an older house. Its full of spiders. Mostly brown recluse. Ive tried everything to get rid of them aside from calling an exterminator. I wanted something safe to use because I have a cat. So I tried DE. I havent seen any spiders since I put it down. Earwigs seem to be an issue this year. DE dont kill them but they dont like it. Also the ant invasion on my back porch is almost gone. No beetles, no stink bugs, no snails sliming up my front door! Im telling you bugs wont cross it. Dont be too heavy applying it inside the house. A light dusting is enough. Otherwise you will have a mess thats hard to clean up. Outside will have to be reapplied after it rains.
