As I indicated, if youre transferring just data, it will work fine but it may take a while. I dont think ANY of my old applications were able to run on the new laptop because the video hardware had changed. If you are upgrading the processor and memory to a new desktop, and NOT changing the graphics hardware, you should be ok. Bear in mind that it took 3 days non-stop to transfer data from a core i5 laptop to a full hd i5 laptop. I had the hard drive about 80% full (About 700 Gb). The software IS friendly in splitting hard drives in case youre going from a one hard drive system to a two hard drive system.

Worked as advertised. Moved existing accounts and programs to a new computer in what seemed like a short time.

Great product

This is the second time I’ve purchased a copy of this software to transfer between computers. I’d cleaned up the host computer before downloading the software and connecting the two together. I kept getting an error message, telling me there wasn’t enough room available for the transfer, even though I had a new, much larger hard drive and wasn’t copying over many data files. There were two fantom folders that if I chose not to transfer, I could accomplish the desired action but no way to see what was in either one on the host computer. It would have been helpful to be able to open those folders to see what I was skipping. After three days, I haven’t seemed to be in need of anything on the new computer so I guess I’ll not worry. Will a buy another copy the next time I update my machine? At this point, I’m not convinced I will.

The limited instructions do not tell you that you need to completely clean up your old computer before the transfer. I had assumed that you could choose which things to transfer, so I did not bother to do a cleanup first. My new laptop has two drives but the default drive did not have enough space, so I called the support number to ask for assistance. I spoke to two people; they were polite but were really just trying to upsell. They performed an analysis on both PCs and tried to sell me a one time service with 14-day support for ONLY $99.99 (although a supervisor could reduce that by $30), on top of the 50 bucks I already paid for the software. No, thank you. I really believe this is a scam. Save yourself the time and trouble and just reinstall your software on the new machine yourself.

Easy to use! Seamless migration from my old PC to my new PC! Plug n play! So user friendly, I didn’t even need any tech support! Very fast process! I highly recommend this product!!

I was trying to move my computer with an external hardrive to a brand new PC. Id drag and drop... use recovery mode... make save points and try pulling from that... nothing worked quite right. There would be an app or two that failed or didnt have the correct data to boot up. Id go fishing in the old PC for the right data to make the apps fire... just s mess. This product was so incredible easy I cant even tell you. It took about 40 minutes but it gave me an exact copy of my old computer... apps and all. I should have choked down the $40 from the start instead of spending hours trying to transfer over with an external.

While not a tech nerd I use a computer daily for work. Read the reviews before I purchased and wasnt 100% sold but wanted to move my programs & documents/photos in 1 step from 5 yr old computer to new one. It took 12+ hrs to complete and it did NOT move all documents/photos so still have to do that myself. It kept saying there wasnt enough space? even though there is plenty of room letft.

Laplink transferred data completely from old computer to new. I received great customer service that was patient and professional. Laplink also wiped my old computer so I felt comfortable donating it. Excellent product!

Was quite difficult to install. Although I am not an IT expert I am a bit computer savvy. Was difficult to install and had to call the tech support. They were great. After the transferred files and programs had to reinstall. Be careful if you purchase unless you are familiar with computer migration. Otherwise ok.
