I wish it had built in speakers but besides that I love it. Bring it bright light doesn’t make it hard to see and the screen itself is beautiful

I am coming from another LG monitor (UM67 29UM67) and the (27GL850-B 27) is a nice upgrade/downgrade compromise. I loved the ultrawide feature of my former monitor, but I really wanted to get a 144Hz refresh. Cost, size, resolution and 144Hz urged me to purchase the 27GL850-B 27. Other than loosing the ultrawide this monitor has better contrast, brightness, color and the 144Hz in Counter-Strike Source is very nice. Ultimatly I think this monitor should sell for $350.00 and not $499.00, but I really have no regrets. If you have an average monitor you will notice the quaility of the screen. If you have not experienced 144Hz in a fast paced shooter...you are missing something. I would not go for a 32 or 34 2K monitor over converns of the dpi resolution. This monitor is a very good compromise. Update - I dropped a star because Counter-Strike Source models get a weird ghosting effect. It is noticable and slightly distracting. So far I am not seeing the same issue in Battlefield 4. I will fiddle with settings and contact support and provide an update. Final Update - This monitor is far from perfect and I am not able to get rid of the weird ghosting effect. In addition I just noticied a stuck red pixel...sigh. At this price point a dead or stuck pixels should not be an issue. LG needs to step up the quality control.

Ive had it installed for a little while now and have been very happy with it. It took little while to adjust the colors and display settings to get it where I like it. The presets were either too dim or washed out. The image is very clear, and I and I prefer overall compared to the 4k LG 27UL500-W that I have it sitting next to on my desk. If youve been using 1080p displays this makes for a nice choice for an upgrade at a very reasonable price. The 144mhz refresh rate works as advertised. The button on the bottom of the screen is very touchy and I often end up having to exit the menu and go back to select the feature that I am trying to adjust. The display supports display port version 1.1, 1.2, and 1.4. I have noticed that switching it between input sources that are using the different DP formats causes the screen to go black and message appears telling me that I need to go into the settings and select the proper display port version. I wish that this was done automagically but that is not the case. I have noticed that when running this display through my display port switch that there is some stuttering and screen tearing. This did not happen on the older monitor that this one replaced. I am not sure if this is a monitor issue or a byproduct of using the switch. I am overall very happy with my purchase and this has become may main working display replacing a midrange ASUS 1080p display.

Ordered like 4 monitors from Amazon, and all had some manufacturing issues with them. Until this one. I have it for about 6 months now, no prob. The LG-850B is overall a solid monitor. Good colors, good refresh rate, okay profile management (cant create new profiles, but can edit the 2 gamer profiles). I bought this monitor for about 260$, so if you can, wait till xmas when for it to go on sale. I have a few complaints, some of which: 1. This is a U.S product, meaning it only comes with a U.S power supply unit. Go get an adapter. 2. The stand is ABYSMAL. I bought an arm to go with it. (F80 North Bayou, check locally, it might be cheaper than it is on Amazon). 3. The quality-control of all Amazon products is very questionable. You should get these types of products during the summer / xmas, where you have like 2 month window to return the item for a full refund, in case it completely breaks apart.

Within the first few months of owning this monitor I noticed a crack in my screen on the upper right quadrant that wasnt there previously. Im almost certain it was not of my own doing since I dont touch my monitors unless its with a microfiber cloth to clean them, and I dont remember bumping into it with anything either. On further inspection, the crack seems to be almost exactly 6-8 pixels wide, and is completely straight horizontally, like perfectly so, which I think also rules out that I scratched it somehow. Im thinking that maybe one very small component got too hot and the screen cracked there as a result or something, I dont know. Again, I dont touch my monitor and I dont use sharp objects around it either, so I was pretty surprised to see this. At first I thought it was some dead pixels. Some might think such a small crack isnt noticeable in normal use, and sometimes it isnt on darker backgrounds, but on anything lighter though its quite noticeable, like a permanent small hair which you cant wipe off no matter what. Its a bit hard to see in the picture, but there it is.

I bought this monitor for my new computer which is able to play games at 144hz 1440p. The monitor was easy to setup, looks great and I love the way the monitor itself looks. The 27 inch screen really takes up your whole view while gaming. It looked great out of the box and I have no complaints whatsoever. I didnt even have to setup Gsync/Freesync or configure any settings. It looked and worked great right out of the box. I could theoretically see someone who is REALLY focused on color quality maybe needing to do some kind of adjustment to the settings, but I guarentee for 99% of people its not a problem at all. If you do care about that kind of stuff, find somewhere that can give a more detailed description (like Hardware Unboxed on youtube), but again, I dont think most people will care. I play in the dark sometimes and dont have any complaints about the brightness. If your like me and never experienced playing at 1440p 144hz before (assuming you have a computer that can play at those specs) it was a massive upgrade to my experience and I was not disappointed. The resolution bump is great, but the higher framerate is even better. It makes everything feel much smoother and natural. Youll notice the difference even moving the mouse cursor in Windows. If you are in a position to afford that kind of upgrade, it definitely makes for an improved experience. For 1440p at 144hz gaming in this price bracket, this is an excellent option. I did a lot of research on other options and this was consistently a strong reccomendation and now I see why. Ive used it every day since I got it and loved every second of gaming on it.

Its a decent monitor, it does what it says, and its defect free. Its not as nice as my old Shimian QH270, which I bought for a similar price in 2013. That also used an LG produced screen from that time. Unfortunately, that monitor died and I had to replace it at an inopportune time. Right now there are a plethora of options for 1440p+ monitors available, but thats only due to corner cutting in quality control and using lower quality panels to meet the induced demand. This LG panel, like many others available, does boast an impressive refresh rate and responsiveness that puts those old panels to shame. This makes it a good purchase if your focus is on gaming. However, the color has not noticeably improved over the past decade from other IPS monitors. Moreover, the contrast ratio is quite bad, certainly noticeable worse than my old screen, a bad feeling for a product with eight years advantage. Overall, I would recommend this product. The fact of the matter is, there arent a lot of options better than this at the price. LG is a quality manufacturer still, so you can trust youll get a screen in good working order, which is better than you can say for many other options. Comparing with its contemporaries, that makes it a worthy purchase. I just lament that I had to buy something during this trough, but hopefully screens will get better in the future, rather than just easier to find.

Dont know what to tell you. Runs perfectly fine with no ghosting while gaming. Since it is my first monitor, I cannot not tell you if it is worth like $250-300 (when I got it). But, it is definitely a worthy contender if youre not a competitive player and just want to enjoy the scenery. Quick reminder: if you want to have 144 fps, you should first check in your settings under Display.

For gaming it’s a really incredible monitor. Great picture quality. If you wanna buy it just for gaming it’s the perfect for the price.

Firstly sorry for not having any pictures but I want to keep this brief. (27GL850-B) Pros: The monitor is amazing, the nano IPS display is beautiful, vibrant, bright and responsive. The 144hz refresh rate is great. The monitor comes with a lot of features such as free sync and even has the official G-sync compatibility sticker if you have an Nvidia video card. The UI is very simple and easy to use/navigate with the nipple styled button. Con: The stand is fairly wobbly but I never planned to keep using even before purchasing the monitor. I highly recommend getting something like the NB North Bayou Monitor Desk Mount Stand its perfect for a monitor like this and around $30 most of the time. The HDR is well. I wouldnt use it Ive only tried it once and well clearly this isnt a display you should be using for HDR. That aside the only thing better than this monitor is either the newer version which is 165hz or the at the moment of writing this review the unreleased OLED 240hz display.

Immerse yourself in your favorite games with this fast IPS monitor featuring a 1ms (GtG) response time, wide viewing angles, and high color accuracy with sRGB 99%. See moving objects on the screen more clearly with a high native 144 Hz refresh rate and 1ms Motion Blur Reduction. NVIDIA G-SYNC support virtually eliminates screen tearing and minimize stutter in high-resolution and fast-paced games for a fast and fluid gaming experience with supported video cards. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly, while Black Stabilizer allows you to see them more clearly in the dark. Use the Crosshair feature for enhanced vision and precision in first-person shooters. Adjust the tilt, height, and pivot for the best ergonomics, ensuring that you have the most comfortable viewing position to play your games.
