Greater than one weekThis is exactly what I was hoping it would be! These devices are actually passing Ethernet over coax... TRANSPARENTLY!! For those that might care, I’m trunking 4 VLANs to an edge switch in my media center. I’ve got about 8 devices (streaming, gaming, smart home, etc) eating up a significant portion of the 1G trunk. One of these adapters sits on each end, and it’s completely transparent to my devices. I don’t notice any loss or stability issues as a result. There was practically no setup. Plug them in, and turn them on... done. MoCA doesn’t get enough love!! It’s way better than any power line adapter I’ve used. Also, try trunking VLANs over WiFi... tell me how that works out for you. I have no evidence to support this, but I bet if you bought four of these devices, you could LAG ports and have redundant uplinks (or 2Gb/s) over dusty, old coax. Color me impressed! If you’ve made it this far into my review, you have a need (not a want) for those MoCA adapters. Just get them! Your loved ones will appreciate the investment you’ve made in providing sweet, reliable bandwidth to the places you didn’t think it would, or even should, go. You’re not using the old black cable in your wall anyways... do something useful with it, and start transporting packets.

> 3 dayEasy to setup and work wonderfully. Used to add an access point to a low signal area of my home. Much easier that running ethernet from upstairs on the other side of the house. The coax cable was already there.

13-06-2025While I have yet to see the advertised maximum speed of 1GBps, I did get 6-700MBps, which is pretty good.

> 3 dayEasy to set up and work so if you have wifi issues these are expensive but they work only problem is they come no where near 1Gbps speeds, max is 450mbps on my cable 1Gbps network.

> 3 dayOver $400 in the latest router and extender and I finally discover MoCa. I was covering 4 floors in an old stone row house with Wifi that was not always adequate. Most of my streaming and gaming was done on the 3rd floor. Even with the latest tech and extenders I was lucky to get between 20-60mps down and 10 up. I now average 710mps down and 60 up on the 3rd floor with the Motorola MoCa installed. Installation instructions were not great but picked up what needed via YouTube tutorials. Nothing wrong with good WiFi but this should be in every home.

11-06-2025It works. I wasn’t getting wi-fi to the far side of the house. This was the best solution. I feel it is a better solution than the other methods I have tried. Antenna, extender or buy another computer.

> 3 dayI work in IT. My FIOS ONT is in the basement in the laundry room and I only have them for Internet. The ONT allows an Ethernet cable to be ran from you ONT to your router. I have my router on the 2nd floor in my office for optimal placement. Running an Ethernet wire would have been a pain and costly to have done professionally. I tried using Powerline adapters but there was a solid amount of bandwidth loss, probably more due to poorer electrical wiring in the house. The MOCA adapters allowed me to use the existing coaxial in the house and worked great! Easy to plug in and really no configuration needed. If your not a tech person like me they would be an easy way to bring signal from device (modem or ONT) in say a basement to your router in your house. ***I would like to note I tried to get FIOS gigabit speed and use these. I was not able to get full bandwidth using these, although Im not sure if that is due to the electrical wiring in my house or the units themselves. I do know that if your electrical wiring isnt great that will result in loss of bandwidth. I decided to go with the 300/300 speed tier and get full bandwidth to my router. And honestly it saves me some money on the monthly fee and the 300/300 is fine for my usage. I would say the extra cost of the units is offset by the ease of use of installation and flexibility of placement.
