This game is probably one of my favorite Pokemon games. I love the story line that is more involved than many of its predecessors. It actually makes me feel like Im getting my moneys worth out of the game! The pokemon are just as cute in this one. I usually find in many Pokemon games that I go for the same old team in each one, but this one I ventured out and tried different pokemon. The festival plaza is one of my favorite things about this game, as well as Poke Pelago. I seriously could see myself playing this game even after I beat the main story line this time.

A lot more forgettable of a game than before. I didnt find myself playing as much as the previous games, even if the visuals were great this time around. Ive never been one to invest a lot of time in pokemon breeding and things like that because I find it to be too tedious for my lack of game patience but Ive always managed to still have fun building different teams and constantly coming back to play my game. This time around though, I felt like everything was far too linear? Not a lot of places left exploration/discovery since you are already kind of told where to go, what to do and what youll find. This was probably to accommodate all the newer fans but it definitely felt more of a game for them than for an older fan like myself. And I was definitely disappointed in the removal of streetpass/spotpass features. You were forced to hang in the festival area to do any kind of interaction, and then you had to collect tickets to do certain things, I kind of just gave up on that.

Easily the best pokemon game of recent years. Sure, I guess some of the earlier ones might seem better for the sake of nostalgia, but I honestly think this is probably the best yet. First, in recent years there have often been complaints about the pokemon being laim or uninspired, and I feel like this set has done a really good job of making a large number of really great pokemon. Sure, there are always a few that seem pointless, but its far less than in other games, in my opinion. I played through the games multiple times with entirely different teams because there were so many pokemon I wanted to try using. Second, the break with tradition with the gyms was a great change of pace. The prior formula was tried and true, but was so predictable, that even the nicest and coolest gyms were just okay. With the trials, every single one had me excited for what twist it would have. And boy did they have some great twists, its probably the first game that there were multiple times where I smiled or laughed out loud at something that happened during a trial. And speaking of laughing, Team Skull will forever be immortalized as my favorite villain team ever. Nothing can beat the nostalgic true evil of Team Rocket, or the ethical and moral designing around N from black and white, but this is the first team where I was excited every time I saw them, rather than exasperated that they were wasting more of my time. The jokes, the comedic timing, the music! Everything was done so well, that it will be hard to create a new villain in the next games that will be able to compare. Finally, and I think most importantly, the excellent cast of characters. Sure, I thought Hau was as lame and uninteresting as the next guy, but so many of the other characters were so well designed. The trial captains were dynamic and felt so much more alive than your average gym leader from the previous games. Kukui, for all his lame jokes, was more involved and excited to exist than any before, and it seemed like he had real motivation behind his work. And, of course, Lillie. For the first time ever in a pokemon game, I would purposefully go out of my way to talk with Lillie every time something happened, hoping for a new comment or dialogue. Whenever she popped up needing help, I didnt feel annoyed or tired, but I genuinely wanted to help her. Her character alone was worth the entire game in my opinion, and I desperately hope that they make a third game for this set just so that I can experience more of her story, considering there is still so much to tell. It seems like theyve set themselves up perfectly for a sequel, but we can never be sure just what Nintendo is thinking. All in all, I think it is no surprise that this is considered one of the best games of recent pokemon history, and it is definitely an adventure worth experiencing for anyone who considers themselves a pokemon fan.

Who remembers the blue, red version ?? Who remembers teleporting next to some cave and walking up 3 steps , left 4 steps , down 5 steps to catch mew ??? Sadly I am no longer playing Pokémon but I bought this for my nephew. Im sure this new generation or Pokémon are cool but nobody beats the old Pokémon with ash , brock & misty. Sorry just a 90s baby here. Anyway, nephew loved this game. So 5 stars from me. Im glad my nephew is getting close to the same experience I had growing up lol

This game does not utilize 3D capabilities. The overall quality feels a bit unfinished. The story gets an incredibly slow start. The Rotom Dex is more annoying than Clippy and Navi combined. Every other line of Team Skulls dialogue makes me cringe because their body language is like the choreography for a rap video on meth, and they stereotype gang culture with African American Vernacular English so it comes off as a bit racist even with white characters saying it. The gameplay has been changed a lot since the previous generation. Some of the essential basic features that have been there since gen 1 have been removed, so its hardly even Pokémon anymore. There are no gym battles. There arent even gyms. There are no HMs, and the replacement for them doesnt even make any sense. There are no bikes, probably because the writers decided everyone would be happy with riding a Pokémon. You can no longer transfer Pokémon up from previous generations, except Bank(a service you have pay for annually) will enable that starting next month, but Pokémon cant hold items when transferred through Bank, so I will lose all of my rare items that I worked hard to earn and find. Online gameplay is flooded with cheaters that Nintendo refuses to do anything about. Even well-known players in official tournaments are obviously cheating and harass anyone who mentions it. The only reason I havent sold the game is because I still do link battles with my partner.

PROS: At first, I really did not like the Alolan theme, thinking that it was cheesey, but I see it was made in good taste and actually appreciate the immersion the game makers have established. If youre a player that loves the fine details of the game, and recognizes the effort game developers put into making every aspect interesting, this is the right game for you. Its chock full of great fun minigames, pretty good customization, and a lot of quality of life improvements. I havent loved a Pokemon game this much since Pokemon Ruby-Sapphire! CONS: The only con is that a lot of the male character customization is limited and seem low effort, especially compared to that of the female characters! I wish the devs would focus more on male-player customization-- or at least provided a way to change player gender. Men like a diversified look and occasionally don long hair too, I promise.

game is just as fun as other pokemon games and it has exciting new features that were specifically made for pokemon moon and its alternate game pokemon sun. i picked pokemon moon because its legendary pokemon is a giant bat pokemon where pokemon sun has a lion type. i just got my game not too long ago so im not really far in the game yet since i dont have tons of time to play it. i will say though im far enough in that i love what i see and cant wait to see what else it has in store for me. i am 28 years old and it is a great game for kids or adults without getting bored at all

I havent finished it yet but so far, this is my least favorite Pokemon game. I dont know how they could have went from Pokemon X that I LOVED to this. *It is soooo slow. People talk to me for forever and then I do one thing and they come up and talk to me for forever again. I cant just play the game! Also, the screen goes black for a little too long sometimes when the picture changes, and the battles are slow. *There are no gyms. There are trials. Renaming things wouldnt be so bad but the trials arent even a challenge. I feel like the whole game is just one big walk down a twisting route, where trainers get progressively harder to defeat and some trainers give you things. I dont feel like Im making progress. *The map really confuses me. It may not be a big deal for some people but I would get lost on the original maps. I guess thats why they place flags to tell you where to go next. *Too many things you can only do once a day. I feel like Im playing a free download sometimes. *A lot of things that I liked about Pokemon X, like the clothes, and the mini-games where I can play with my Pokemon are lame in this game. I can buy clothes but they dont change every day, they dont seem as cute, and I cant even see the hats! I can still pet and feed my Pokemon, but I cant play with them. *I cant sit in chairs. I cant even walk on top of them. Im used to being able to do that. I also cant look inside trash cans. *There is an A bubble on top of pokeballs... For some reason, this just makes me feel dumb... or that the creators think Im dumb. The only reason this game is somewhat enjoyable is because I am addicted to Pokemon in general. If anyone thinks they can change my opinion, please be my guest. -Katelyn

im on the second island so this will be a bit incomplete the new pokemon designs and animations are fairly good. the new improvements are either good or bad the hand-holding in the game is a lot more noticeable and would help newcomers jump in or annoy people looking for the least bit of a challenge. i just dont see the reason for a destination point in the game. the camera is a lot better than x/y however there is no 3d feature and i would have liked to be able to move the camera at times as well. the new pokemon gang team is fairly good the animations giving to them are funny and give them a sense of being. all i got so far may add to this.
